This is not questioning allegations against him. Please don't start.

Simply I loathed him as a DJ in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and even now. Am I missing something?

He's just always come over as a prat. Now that could be said about lots of other ex-Radio 1 Jocks. Smashy and Nicey in particular.

But whilst they are amusing parody's and Mike Read's stance on Frankie/relax (and his rewriting of history) Blackburn just seems to go on and on, being found various slots on the network.

I don't and wont listen to him, but was suprised to hear he now has a new slot.

Never been a fan of his style of djing. I remember when he came up to our office on one of the papers I worked on for an interview back in '77 when he was going through a divorce with the very lovely Tessa Wyatt and everyone giving him the w**ker sign behind his back on his way in and out.

Don't really get this soul boy stuff. He wasn't ever sold as this during the first 3/4 of his career.

It was like the BBC had to have an excuse to keep him on.

Craig Charles - he comes across as having far more soul.

He was always out of touch. durenduren with a hard d (Duran Duran) and theme in black (rather than the Stranglers The Men in Black) being two incidents where he had no awareness of 'pop' music when he was on a pop radio station.

    • To put this over dramatic and somewhat gleeful post in context, the policy has not "failed at first hurdle." "It is just a temporary decision. The judge granted a pause of at least 14 days so the man, who is not being named for legal reasons and arrived in the UK on a small boat last month, could provide evidence of his claim that he has been a victim of modern day slavery." from BBC website
    • what sort of bike are you looking for - men's , ladies, size. commuter, mountain or racer etc etc. And what is your budget?
    • Is  the  decision by the High Court not to  deport an Eritrean man  to France on Wednesday anything other than a massive boost for Farage and reform. Farage has made a commitment for the UK to exit the ECHR which limits the independence of our justice system The UK Government’s “one in, one out” has failed at the first hurdle - just as the Rwanda scheme did under the Tories. To make it even more embarrassing is that the accommodation for deportees   in Rwanda paid for by the UK is now being used by the USA for its deportees. If we are to have Farage thrust upon us as a result of such judicial decisions, then God help us.
