I am organizing my sons party themed witrh pirates abd monaters. Is ther a shop in the area where I can find themed plates, cups, party bags, party games etc.? Prefererably sth with relatively low prices for multiple items, can be stanfard prices for some individual items. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful. Thank you.

Hi, I think Sainsbury's do a reasonably priced pirate party range? We usually go straight to Amazon for themed party things as it tends to be cheapest, but not always. We've also used the website 'Party Pieces' before who are reliable and Yellow Moon as long as you don't need the items in a great hurry!

Hope that helps, Natalie x

Try the Poundland shops. They usually have more plates, cups in a pack than Sainsburys so work out much cheaper. They are a bit hit and miss though so the Peckham store might have lots of a princess theme but no pirates! They have local stores in Peckham, Brixton, Camberwell, Lewisham and Croydon or try Tiger stores in Lewisham and Croydon.

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
