Just cos trump says it, doesn?t mean it?s not true

There are definite similarities

Fabrication of ?facts? to prove points

Denial of their past statements even in the face of evidence

Scaremongering over immigration

Promises to make their countries the best in the world ever (or words to that effect)

Making promises they can?t deliver

Putting their individual profiles ahead of everything else

You ok with all that?

Most of those could be applied to many politicians.

Who said I was OK with any of them? I didn't. I don't support Johnson.

It's just to say Johnson is the British Trump is left wing knicker wetting of the highest degree.....huge swathes of left wing twitter now think we now have a fascist government... it's adolescent, fantasy stuff.

I'm not particulaly left wing and would compare Trump to Johnson in many respects quire easily (how could one NOT draw parralels ?!).

Being able to identify two peas in a pod is not a skill particular to left wingers.

Ok. if we're looking for weak links. Equally as well

- strong use of identity politics

- constant reference to the 'elites' and breaking the 'system' (Draining the swamp in trump speak)

- constant attacks on, reluctance to engage with, and complaining about bias of 'MSM'

- populism

could be Jeremy Corbyn

:)

Completely agree. It's extremely worrying.

What other prime ministers or presidents are you thinking of?

That?s a lot of exaggeration for someone accusing others of getting over excited!

Trumpism is catching on down under

Australian deputy PM : ?I also get a little bit annoyed when we have people in those sorts of countries pointing the finger at Australia and say we should be shutting down all our resources sector so that, you know, they will continue to survive,?

He then went on that they will survive due to Australian fruit.

Impeachment https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-49814927

I don't believe this will bring Trump down and fear the predictions that it will strengthen his fab base are correct .

But then I didn't believe that Johnson's prorogation would be found illegal.....

Yes it appears the Supreme Court can read minds...

Ahh the Trump thread. being 7pts odd behind and needing to pull back in the swing states Trump is coming out with more and more dirty stuff - but some people seem to like that. I think we can expect it to get as dirty as a 1970s Wales-England rugby international.

They played on loop a video of Nancy Pelsosi going to the hairdresser this morning.

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
