Trick or treating- what time?

So it is Halloween today. Does anyone know when the appropriate time for Trick or Treating? Need to make sure I have a pumping with a candle at my door to welcome any dressed up children as well as sending out my own.

Little kids go out earlier with their parents. 5 pm ish? What time does it get dark now? Older kids and troublemakers go out later.
