Can you let me know of any places/organisations in Dulwich or surrounding towns i can volunteer 1 or 2 evenings a week, ideally looking for a position working alongside other volunteers

Outreach teams go out evenings/nights helping homeless folk, you could try a search for one.

Or Samaritans work all night I think?

How about Girl Guiding. There are a number of Rainbows, Brownies & Guides units that meet locally which are desperate for volunteers. You would be working with other volunteers and can choose to train to become a fully registered leader - or just come along on the evenings to help out. (Yes, I am one of those leaders - so have a declared interest!).
