Gussy
Hi Millie, I go regularly to tippitoes and it's great, however I'm not sure there would be enough room for all of us with little ones (most with more than one) and its normally pretty packed. Also, it would be hard if not impossible to chat to each other for the duration of the class. I find it extremely hard just to keep my eyes on my toddler whilst juggling a squirming 9 month old who thinks he can walk already! It would be lovely to say hello next time we are there - probably next Monday if you are planning on going? In the main, I'm usually stuck for things to do in the afternoons as well, especially in the winter - I can do Thursdays, but I can also get to Goose Green on Mondays for B&B - there is also a playgroup on Thursday mornings which is good for toddlers & babies. jills
I just moved to ED in Nov and would absolutely love to meet some other mums and little ones. I have a 16 month old son and afternoon playdates would be ideal. Happy to host, and would love to be included in anything that's going on. The book group is really appealing as well - I'll get messaging. A great thread, thanks! ClareC
Gym babes is for prewalkers and is mainly soft free play with a few songs at the beginning / end. There are slides, tunnels, tents, parallel bars, trampettes, all sorts really. It's held near North Dulwich Station in St Faiths church hall. Once the babies can walk they graduate to the next class up which is Tumble Tots, same sort of thing but more structured I beleive.Cx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14551-stay-at-home-mums/page/2/#findComment-398330 Share on other sites
Princess
It would seem there are lots of things out there but the difficulty is going to be accommodating all the age ranges and the vast number of mums and children we have!I'm going to try and make B&B's on the 10th but as this excludes quite a few because of older children. Therefore, how about a Thursday afternoon meeting starting next Thursday 14th, at 3pm at the main gate in Dulwich Park. We can then decide to either go in to the cafe or just wander based on numbers. If it looks like we'll have a good number each week after a few weeks I'll look into hiring a venue and making it more of a playgroup type thing with the essential biscuits and coffee etc!Px Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14551-stay-at-home-mums/page/2/#findComment-398339 Share on other sites

Gidders
The Plough is good for big groups with prams - there is always loads of room for buggies in there. Pickle
We might pop along if that's OK? My two are slightly older (4 and 2.5) but we tend to go a bit mad in the afternoons so it will be a good excuse to get out of the house.P Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14551-stay-at-home-mums/page/2/#findComment-399701 Share on other sites

snowboarder
Cool will really try to make it but last time at the Plough little sb kept alternately sprinting behind the bar and helping himself to glasses and trying to leave via main door. Stressful!! Roll on summer and parks! Sleeping till 3ish atm so just after then hopefully.. annamart23
Hi Jills (and everyone else), welcome to East Dulwich!I'm a mainly SAHM (recently started working Mons & Tues) with a 16 month old boy, and I'd love to meet some more mums in the area for regular get-togethers. We don't have any regular classes from Wednesday pm onwards, so morning or afternoon playdates would be great. I confess I've been following a few of these types of threads on the forum for a while, but hadn't got round to joining in till now.I find playgroups etc are good, but we seem have our best times in the comfort of people's houses, where the kids can be easily entertained and watched while a few of us mums chat and get to know each other. I moved to the area while I was pregnant, and am still gradually getting a network together... it's happening VERY slowly, I have to say, mainly due to laziness on my part! But little Max is very sociable, so I think I need to get out there a bit more :)I guess I should read back through this post to see if there are any meet-ups planned in the near future... if so, would you mind if I came along??Anna Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14551-stay-at-home-mums/page/2/#findComment-400438 Share on other sites
