Hi there,

Does anyone have any experience in getting a mortgage on an ex local authority building? Banks are nervous on lending following the recession in c.2008 and I hoped someone may know of a broker (or bank) who had experience in this kind of thing?

Any advice is appreciated,

Simon

Hi Simon

I have a residential mortgage on an ex-local authority flat (Southwark Council). We had no trouble getting the mortgage (Nationwide, applied May/June 2015). Happy to send you details of our mortgage broker if you would like. Also happy to discuss/give any other advice.

Vicky
