CITY LIT TASTERS @ THE NINES PECKHAM

April 5th - 9th

The NINES is a playful bar, kitchen and venue in Copeland Park, the heart of Peckham?s emerging creative quarter. As an integral part of this culturally rich scene, we are dedicated to curating an events programme of music, arts and parties that reflect the spirit of our local community.

This April London?s favourite adult learning institute, the City Lit, will be taking up residence at the NINES to bring us an entire week of taster sessions taught by leading artists and practitioners. Their take-over aims to showcase the rich creative talent to emerge from City Lit as well as bring a taste of what they do to the creative heart of South London. So stop wondering 'what if?' and join us this April to try your hand at a variety of brilliant sample classes. Have a crack at screen printing, street photography and jewellery making or simply come along to enjoy a drink, see some art, and celebrate what happens if you engage your creative potential.

    • The programme was brilliant and makes me wary now of sea paddling as so many areas affected. My daughter was working at a bank when privatisation of utility companies were floated. Bank advised its staff that only x number of shares could be purchased by individuals as Government rules at that time. She reported that certain people were seeking double and triple shares. Bank told her to ignore the guidelines as those customers had thousands of pounds in the bank. She was so disgusted at the banks attitude she handed in her notice, She decided that the financial world was too corrupt. Two degrees later - she now works in the NHS as an OT in mental health unit.
    • Out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw a white (?cabbage white?) butterfly. It's awfully early, isn't it?

    • Petition Urge Israeli Government to stop law allowing execution of Palestinian prisoners The UK Government must act urgently to urge the Israeli Government to stop the proposed law which would permit the execution of Palestinian Prisoners, past, present and future. More details We believe that such a law would constitute complete violation of the Geneva Convention and International Human Rights Law. UN experts have called for these proposals to be dropped. We call on the UK Government apply considerable and substantial political pressure and the leverage of its international obligations to prevent the Israeli Government from passing this law.
