Phlox
Wondered if anyone had purchased one. Silent night make them, also a company called Casper. They come with a trying out period, so you can return if unsuitable. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/146767-mattress-in-a-box/ Share on other sites
bobbsy
I didn't buy a mattress in a box, but did buy a memory foam mattress from an italian company (can't remember the name) - it arrived rolled and shrink wrapped - it's awesome. Earl Aelfheah
Comfortable generally, but they make me a bit to warm. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/146767-mattress-in-a-box/#findComment-1118015 Share on other sites
Phlox
Yes, have heard about possibly being too warm. Think some of them have ventilation holes now. Used to have a Dunlopillo latex one, which I loved but the quality of those has deteriorated, apparently. Was surprised how comfortable it was. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/146767-mattress-in-a-box/#findComment-1118100 Share on other sites
KidKruger
I ordered an IKEA day bed recently for one of the kids. There were several boxes, but the mattresses came rolled and vacuum-packed. I thought I'd been sent a couple of quilts but when you open the mothers they bust out like the incredible hulk, except they're not green and don't have a bad temper. Some day I'll Google HOW they get a mattress that big packaged down so small.Meanwhile, they're comfy matresses, obviously no springs tho. Loz
We just bought a new bed and when browsing, I found the memory foam mattresses a bit 'dead'. We ended up getting a pocket spring mattress. Was fun getting it upstairs, though. Phlox
I've got a Millbrook pocket sprung one now. It has been great, but it's old now, and very heavy to turn. My brother had one of the original Tempur memory foam ones. Those were extremely expensive back in the day.
