Yes of course, he wrote the very great Born To Be Wild. And here's the lyrics for you.

You're welcome.

Get your motor runnin'

head out on the highway

lookin' for adventure

and whatever comes our way

yeah darlin' go make it happen

take the world in a love embrace

fire all of your guns at once

and explode into space

I like smoke and lightning

heavy metal thunder

racin' with the wind

and the feelin' that i'm under

yeah darlin' go make it happen

take the world in a love embrace

fire all of your guns at once

and explode into space

Like a true nature's child

we were born, born to be wild

we can climb so high

i never wanna die

Born to be wild

born to be wild

Perhaps a move to the countryside is what you need Jules? You will have respite from the traffic fumes (although will need a car to get anywhere other than the village shop if you are lucky enough to have one) and can light bonfires to your heart's content while simultaneously not being bothered by the bonfires of your neighbours. Would be perfect!

Bonfires are fine so long as people are considerate. Being considerate meaning the following:

Speaking to neighbour's about your occasional need for bonfires

Not burning stuff at the hottest times of the year July & August

Not burning plastic or potentially toxic to air items

Having water near to hand so that you can drown or damp down the fire if you go out and have to leave it smouldering

Make sure the bonfire is attended and well away from sheds and fences

Do not put hot ash in bins or skips

Allow ash to cool over a day and spread out the ash to cool

That's just my view based on 40 years of experience on this matter

The farmers spread muck at this time of the year and someone

used to set light to the common land (burning it makes the green

shoots grow)

Yes it is illegal- but if they are not English they may not know the law. All builders etc would do it if it was allowed- it obviously saves a lot of money in proper waste disposal. I've had run-ins with builders before and the foremen in question were English and when spoken to about infringements they used the general builders'lack of English as an excuse.

I don't actually believe any of this happened, but in any case the building company will take more care to explain the law to the workers after they get whacked with a fine.

Stone the crows. You're getting beyond parody now Uncle.

    • We need to build houses for social rent. Not 'affordable housing' (which is a euphemism for housing that is completely unaffordable to most) - actual council housing.  Taxes do need to go up. We have to stabilise public services and start paying down our national debt to break free of the sway bond markets have over UK governments freedom to act. We are probably all going to have to work longer too. The original UK state pension was there to help those who often had been in physically demanding manual or labouring jobs. The retirement age was set above average life expectancy at the time; It was not designed for a population of mainly white collar workers people to spend one-quarter, to one-third of their adult life in retirement. I know that may sound harsh, and I certainly don't want to work forever, but the fact is that we have an aging population and a diminishing tax base, and no politician who is willing to make fundamental reforms. Mostly we need to grow, and that means at some point, addressing our relationship with the world's largest trading block right on our doorstep. The damage done by Brexit has been crazy. The fact that it's chief architect has managed to come up smelling of roses and may potentially be our next PM is just mind blowing to me.
