I was pondering on the implications of the internet the way there was a 'flash' thingy at Liverpool st station when 25,000 people came from all over the country to act out some advert.

Also the way it is putting shops out of business because of its trading efficiency from industrial parks etc, and not having to pay the premium costs of the shop rent and rates.

The biggest thing or the most worrying possibility was releasing some information which might trigger some kind of cataclysmic slide of a currency, which might lead to a domino effect and spread say to worldwide proportions.

Santerme thinks things should remain undercover and secret like in the wikileaks thread, and I can understand his point of view, to a degree.

Do you believe that it could trigger some irreversible damage which no one could control?

    • I don't think we need to worry too much about that. There would have to be a massive amount of new construction very quickly to keep housing costs level, let alone depressing existing house prices.
    • Trossachs Rd usually do one
    • I see from Dulwich Society enews that houses in  Stradella Rd, Turney Rd and Ruskin Walk will be creating window advent calendars. I love the idea - are any planned for streets in East Dulwich?
    • I think misue of fireworks would involve throwing them, setting them off in public spaces etc. Which would be a police matter. Having a firework party at home in private property at an unsocial time would I think be a council noise issue as this isn't 'misuse' of fireworks as such but anti social behaviour regarding noise. Unfortunately most fireworks parties aren't that long in duration, so by the time a council noise team attended the nuisance would probably be over. It's not like a noisy party with continuing loud music.
