For anyone who hasn't read the relevant thread - an idea was proposed that local Mums might wear an innocuous badge as a signifier to other Mums at playgroups & coffee mornings that you were a Mum open to a chat. This came about after a discussion on how hard it could be to begin a conversation at these places, and the knock to a new Mums self esteem that can occur after having a baby.

Lovely to meet you this morning! Thankyou ever so much for the badges- they were a bit of a talking point I think! They'll be out every Monday at the group and I hope they get mums chatting and help with everyones confidence post baby :)

Ruth - what age would you say is the too old? I'm about to get rid of my toddler to nursery in January so will have the joy of spending some quality time with my current 14 month old in the mornings rather than her just following her brother to his things!!

I think 14 months is fine! The age cap is 18 months officially but wee had a coupe of two- 3 year olds on occassion.
