HOMEMADE KITCHEN newly opened at 47 Northcross Road London SE22 brings speciality pancakes & crepes to the area... with waffles on its way in May.

Our fluffy American pancakes and our continental style crepes are both savoury and sweet... or a little of both such as our American pancake, smoky bacon, scrambled eggs, berries & maple syrup served all day along with other options for breakfast, lunch/brunch, after-school snack or light supper. if in a hurry, there is a take-away option.

We have seating for 20 inside and tables outside with plenty of room for babies, children and pushchairs ... there's high chairs too. Our chef is from Mauritius and creates wonderful aromatic fillings for our crepes; chicken tikka & coriander crepe is one, bacon, avocado & feta crumble is another. On the sweet side come and try our Oreo pancakes... our full menu is on facebook at homemadekitchen.

Take a break from the kitchen and let us prepare for you healthy daily/weekly meals, packed lunches for work or school using mostly superfoods for maximum health benefits. Pop in and see our chef for your catering needs, parties or just to say hello and sample our food. We use local suppliers, free range eggs, meats from William Rose & fish from Moxons etc...

We look forward to serving you delicious and affordable food.

Think this may be our new favourite shop. My son loved the oreo pancakes and I had the delicious apple and cinnamon pancakes. There was another table tucking into a full English (American?) breakfast with pancakes. Hope it does well.

Thank you for your enquiry regarding wheelchair access into the shop.

As we are using the side door only for the time being, access is a little tricky.

However, with warmer weather on its way we will be able to open the double doors

making easier access into the property.

I will personally ensure that you are advised of this. We also do a take-away

service so pop over and try something.

Thank you for your interest

Maybe you need to put a big giant pancake up in your window? Or a pancake sign outside? Or do free tastings on a Saturday (yes, that sounds ideal to me...!)

I keep singing the praises of your pancakes to my friends and although they are locals they hadn't realised you are there. One even said, "that's a shame - my mum just took the kids into town to visit a pancake place - I had no idea we had one locally"

Homemade Kitchen will be closed until Friday this week ... as we are refurbishing our kitchen

so that we can also bring waffles & other treats to our JUNE menu.

We look forward to seeing you from this Saturday onwards.

We really enjoyed our pancakes the other week. The service was friendly and the prices were good.

One suggestion though - the cheese inside the pancake was not warm/melted. Would be nicer if the filling was gooey and melty, rather than just... grated cheese. Just a thought. I'm sure we'll be back either way.

    • Hi, Anyone getting rid of any of these items? Also looking for a dish for air fryer - max 15 x 15cm. Or one person size dish that can go in airfryer or microwave. Thanks.
    • Noted. I wasn't quite sure from their material whether the 'ad lib' supply by pharmacists had to be mandated; hence the suggestion to check.  There are plenty of individual manufacturers of generic methylphenidate, probably quite a bit cheaper too.  I'm afraid I didn't see radnrach's "can't really take an alternative", so apologies for presuming otherwise.  For myself I'm generally willing to trust that any manufacturer's offering of, say, 27 mg methylphenidate hydrochloride tabs, would contain that, and I'm not too worried about the minor quirks of things like their slow-release technology. I think it's likely that the medicines Serious Shortage Protocol does definitely give pharmacists some degrees of freedom. But it's apparently not in operation here. See the Minister's recent reply to a written question: https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-questions/detail/2023-11-13/1660#.   , which seems to approximate to: we can't apply the shortage protocol here because the drugs are in short supply.
    • I'm not sure pharmacists have any discretion to alter specific medication prescriptions, although they can choose supplier where a generic is prescribed which may be offered by more than one company. This will only be for older medicines which are effectively 'out of copyright' . They can't issue alternatives on their own authority as they don't know what counter-indications there may be for specific patients. GPs may prescribe a specific supplier of a generic medicine where, for instance, they know patients have an adverse reaction to e.g. the medicine casings, so the Nottinghamshire directive to specify only generics where available may not always be helpful.
