????
I think books on "How to be a dad" are about as useful as books on "How to be a mum". in other words rubbish, if not actually counterproductive.Of course we both read zillions of them. Yak
I suspect there's a lot of truth in that, Quids. I have been known to reccommend reading Risk: The Science and Politics of Fear by Dan Gardner, and Bad Science by Ben Goldacre to friends who are expecting.... realdeal4476
we were given 'your baby week by week' by simone cave and dr. caroline fertleman.DH read it every night before bed and honest to god knew more than me - which was great as i had an emergency section in the end, and he was so proud that he could manage to do things on his own. he bathed baby first, bought all the right bottles and teats etc, was actually great for them to bond that quickly and i'm sure that made a whole heap of difference for us all as a new family. each week also has a section on 'how mum feels' which is truly fantastic - stops you feeling totally mental and helps partner work out what the hell is going on ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14947-can-you-recommend-a-book-for-would-be-fathers/page/2/#findComment-397180 Share on other sites
