Depending on where you live, flocker spotter, the curious sewing machine shop at the top of Rye Lane might be a good bet.

Very reliable and thorough. Think Really Maria on LL gets them in to service machines too.

Really honest, nice and efficient people.

Told me my ancient machine's motor might blow up if it was serviced, and if it did they wouldn't charge me.
