I was supposed to get my baby weighed yesterday and couldn't make it as I was ill. He hasn't been weighed for nearly 3 weeks so Id love to know his weight as otherwise will need to wait until first week of Jan.

I normally go to Townley Road but that's Wednesdays only I believe.

Thanks!

Have never done it differently with either kid but was lucky to have chubby-but-not-super-chubby, non-spitting-up, pretty well eating kids. If your baby isn't particularly skinny (or excessively chubby) based on its looks I would think you don't even have to bother with the home scale either :-$ Sorry I know social services will be after me within a week but we're kind of overdoing this weighing clinic thing IMO :-$

Ditto. took my second to the HV to be weighed twice and that was because I took pity on her as she was so nice and was encouraging mums to go along. Can imagine that many people find it a comfort - whilst some find it stress inducing. Some just like to see their baby's growth 'progress' on that red book chart! Usually just weighed at home when was wondering If he'd just put on lots of weight or I was getting old and tired!

We weigh our son by putting him in the door bouncer harness (we know it weighs EXACTLY 340g) and then weighing him with a excess luggage...er...measurer thing. It's not 110% accurate, but it gets the job done. An idea for the future perhaps?

I believe there used to be a HV/baby weigh drop in clinic at 'baby and me' which is at the surestart centre on Bantry St SE5. I think it's from 1-3? USed to be in the dulwich/camberwell 'lets go' events listings.

    • Thanks all!  KateS - boulangerie Jade is a nice cafe, but they don't do fresh cream cakes. Their eclairs are filled with patisserie cream (a kind of custard), not fresh cream. Azalea- thanks and I've been to Bunhead Bakery (a Palestinian bakery) in Herne Hill a few times. There's a nice chocolate bun they do, which is amazing when then sauce is warmed up. But I haven't seen any fresh cream things there, only white icing. Maybe it's only on a certain day.  And the last time I checked, Ayres bakers in Nunhead don't do fresh cream things. These are the kind of fresh baked goods I'm thinking of....
    • Warning to parents using the playground in Dulwich Park. My daughter and her friends found a bag of ‘crunchy powder’ in the children’s playground this morning around 11ish. They thought it was ‘popping candy’ and all tried some before seen with it. Request to parents using the playground - if you see plastics bags with suspect looking contents or powder on the floor in the playground or park: pick it up and throw it in the bin. Don’t walk past and think someone else will deal with it. The next person to walk by might be a child who could pick it up not understanding what it could be. Hopefully our daughter and her friends will be ok and it’s a lucky escape. But please be aware in case anyone else’s child may have found it before them.
    • I’m looking for some ply sheets, ideally 9mm or 12mm. It doesn’t have to look good. As long as it’s not rotten it’ll be fine. I’d like bigger sheets, but I’m open to whatever anyone’s got. If you can help, drop me a DM.  Cheers
    • the only known name is from that poster in the window where it says to email [email protected]. I thought that website might shed some light on who is creating the posters I hope whoever was attacked is doing ok, but agree there is something very off/vigilante-ish about all of this
