I know the heading of this thread isn't a great opener.......but......I'm organising a very small, low key get together for a friend getting married in June. (you could almost call it a hen party..:) And I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for doing something a little different than the usual spa / brunches etc.

Ideally we want to do an activity of some description around Peckham / South East London and then have a local dinner, so it's more the activity that I'd like some fellow forum'ers help with. The bride to be is Spanish as are 8 out of the 11 people attending. We were thinking of hiring a canal boat for the day, but as we have left it a little last minute (happening in two weeks) everywhere seems booked up.

So any suggestions would be helpful, alternatively if anyone knows of a skipper with a boat do PM me!

Thanks, thanks, and thanks again!

Unless you must do it on a Saturday this boat seems to have availability: https://www.designmynight.com/london/event-space/kings-cross/canal-boat-party

What do the Spanish do? Friend of mine lived in Munich and she had to dress up as a fr?ulein and try to sell home made cakes in the street. He donned a false moustache, lederhosen, long socks and a Bavarian hat (not sure what he had to sell in the street).

I thought what an unusual hen/stag do. Not sure why the two of them didn't like it!

For my sisters hen do we had a private flamenco class. The teacher booked a room in a gym and we met there. It was fun and I brought props - a flamenco style skirt, flowers to wear in her hair etc. We're not Spanish but we like dancing. It was 8 years ago so I don't have details of the teacher but I found her through an internet search.

    • Now who might that be?
    • Harvey and Wheeler in Dulwich Village? Only one I know… How can they offer to apply and never did? Surely; whether they are managing the property or not and with tech been so advanced I would have thought they would have been a couple of e mails sent as a reminder or, is it the Landlord’s responsibility to apply… Rental Law/ Bill has just come  into force  - can’t remember if it was this week or last and have been to busy to read.. However, will as assume it is not individual councils but all councils. Came up on Which on line.. Good point Jen Jen Jen - sure some knowledgable person on here can throw more light than I.
    • Does this mean then that anybody who rents out their home in East Dulwich needs one of these licenses? And does everyone of these landlords have one?
