The house:

Rare chance to live in a spacious house located in the beautiful upmarket East Dulwich area. Very well connected to central london (30 minutes door to door). Double room available Monday to Friday with separate private living room and bathroom shared with one other person. The very light Victorian house has been beautifully restored and sensitively furnished with period character and charm. Rent includes all utilities and broadband. Use of kitchen with all modern appliances including dishwasher and microwave. China, cutlery etc. all included. We are very friendly working professionals with a wide range of interests, typically out of the house till late evening.

Transport/amenities:

15 minutes to Peckham Rye (15 minutes to Victoria, London Bridge & Blackfriars and Overground to Shoreditch/East in less than 20 minutes).

15 minutes to East Dulwich and Honor Oak Park stations.

Short walk to the beautiful Dulwich village and surrounding art galleries and Dulwich Park. 10 minute walk from the trendy Lordship Lane boasting many excellent restaurants, pubs and a Picturehouse cinema.

Local gym, sports centre and swimming pool are close by.

Two minute walk to well stocked Co-op.

Who would this room suit:

Would suit a quiet working professional who is out of the house during office hours. Not suitable for someone working from home or shift workers. We're looking for someone who is friendly, kind and easy-going by nature. The bedroom and separate sitting room arrangement would suit someone who is looking for a peaceful environment and has a social life away from the house.

    • We were hoping to have a meal at Monkatsu  last night (Sunday), after having been out all day. Online information gave the closing time as 10pm. We got there around 8.30pm and they wouldn't give us a table because "the kitchen closes in half an hour." Surely it doesn't take half an hour to make a meal? We've never had to wait that long when we've eaten there before. Has anybody else had this happen? We ended up going home and getting a delivery, which wasn't how we had envisaged the end of a nice day 🙄
    • That place did only have pizzas on the menu, to the best of my recollection. We ate there once, the pizzas were ok but the room was not exactly atmospheric. Il Mirto has  a lot of pasta dishes on the menu,  but that also never seems busy. It's small and out of the way,  and easily forgotten if you're looking for somewhere to eat, I suppose.
