Hi ladies,

Some of you may know me, others may not. My names Gina, (as you may of guessed) and I'm a voluntary peer counselor at Dulwich Breastfeeding Cafe. Hi to all those that have been in and had advice in the past and everybody else of course!

I'm researching a little, and need your help and advice please. All will be taken back to my next meeting concerning how Dulwich BF Cafe is getting on and how everybody feels about it.

Were after peoples views on the Cafe environment being a bit clinical and also too small at times (sorry if you've been there when its been extremely busy recently, bit of a squish!). We are perhaps wondering if we should be looking into trying to find a brighter and preferably larger room? Peckham is a brilliant example of what we would expect for Dulwich also. Few posters on the wall, and peoples stories if they would like to share for display.

We face one problem, funding. Due to recent cuts we no longer have a budget really so would require the venue for free on Monday mornings between 10-12. Of course we could stay at Townley Road but we are after your views before investigating any further. Realise its a shot in the dark, but something might crop up we just never know.

Thanks for reading, all comments or PM gratefully received. Toddler now awake tugging at my arms, if i've forgot anything will add to thi slater. x

Have you looked into the big room at the top of the Dulwich library or somewhere in Christ Church? Both are nice, big rooms but not sure of they would incur a cost. I haven't been to Townly road for the cafe so can't comment.

I would be happy to come and share my story about breastfeeding which has been largely positive. I am still feeding my daughter 15 months on. I would've liked to train as a counsellor as well but unfortunately the course took place on Wednesdays when I was working. Good luck with your search.

    • Going to be really inconvenient for folk to go that way as has been stated.. why not just move to Camberwell which I would assume is abit nearer and better travelling wise or have vets in both places from Lordship Lane Branch.. Must have been massive flood if going to take two months to dry out, electrical tests to make sure all good… From upstairs? Or where?
    • @selector73 Thanks!  Because we want him to be treated by the vets that know him we will have to get to the New X branch because thats where the team are based until LL reopens. Thank you again 🙏
    • There's 1 in camberwell hope that helps
    • Thank you !  We Will find a way to get him to New X because We owe his life to the vets he sees at Lordship Lane branch and they know him (and us) and we prefer the continuity of care because he's an elderly rescue cat who gets extremely anxious even though he's been needing monthly bloods he just never gets used to going and it can be a lengthy process just getting the sample. Can you tell I'm as anxious about the whole thing as he is??😥
