Cassius
If I ask to sample a real ale - one I haven't seen before and would like to try, and I am refused I would walk out of the pub. 9 tmes out of 10 I will buy the drink I have tried, and occasionally if I don't like the one I've tried I will buy another that I am sure of. The samples given are very small and surely client satisfaction in this market is worth quite a bit. However to ask to try several does seem a bit out of order. Incidentally I haven't been refused yet. I was in the Porcupine next to Leicester Sq tube and couldn't make up my mind as to which of the 5 ales they had on to have, the manager offfred me two samples without hesitation. One happy customer, plus 4 mates, job done.
