Develop under the stairs!

Hi Anyone,

I'm looking for some advice/pointers on developing the area under the stairs in our vicy terrace. We are just about to start redeveloping the house as was 2 flats. There is a coal cellar but I was thinking of building a trap door down to it (a largish one as we will use the cellar for storage every now and again), and knocking down the wall that drops down the side of the stairs to the floor..... but can't really visualise it to be honest....
