We should change our ballot papers to the usual suspects with the additional new box "EU".

So, if no one feels like voting in one of the contenders (and who does?), then we have the option to vote for the EU.

If nothing else, it might increase the skills/ talents of our wannabe MP/ PMs - which is currently embarrassing and shameful.

"May says there is an EU council meeting, and further discussions to be held. The date of the vote will be announced in the normal way. There has been a meaningful vote. It was in 2016. And if Corbyn wants a meaningful date, she will give him one - 29 March, when the UK will leave."

She still tried to wind up remainers - that's why she'll never have my support.

So much for recent platitudes about reaching out to Remainers. I'm not sure it makes much difference whether she stays or goes, the bottom line is there's a WA that isn't going to pass thru Parly or be renegotiated on. One way or the other, the road she has been consistently kicking the can down, will run out...

She'll come back to the commons sometime before January 21st unless she can wheedle out of it.

She won't have a deal but she will have changed the words around on the current one or added a codicil

At some point Corbyn may call a vote of no confidence - if he wins there's 14 days of chaos - so the DUP could support him then renege to cause more trouble.

There's uncertainty whether this date is a political or legal deadline, if it's not the latter, then May could stall it again to get closer to the March exit date, which is a legal deadline, thus giving her leverage to force through her deal at the last minute under the threat of no deal...https://twitter.com/IanDunt/status/1073169547753127937

Well that was the worst meeting between May and the EU yet.

They were going to add in some kind of sweetener promise but it got overruled and the EU commission has officially rated Theresa May's performance as bad (well someone has to).

It's also been confirmed that UK citizens will have to undergo ETIAS procedures to enter the EU from 2021 (papers seeing this as a ?7 charge - but I see it more as what restrictions will be implemented - will some people not even be allowed to travel to the EU).

She spoke in the debate on the legal advice being released and accused the Attorney General of contempt. She's had plenty to say on Twitter. Just because she's not being reported much in the media, don't assume she's completely silent (I'm not a great cheerleader for her, particularly, but fair's fair).

"In recent days, Lineker has pitted himself against fellow members of the 1986 World Cup squad after the former goalkeeper Peter Shilton expressed his support for pro-Brexit Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg and the forward Chris Waddle endorsed a no-deal exit."

When it gets to ex England stars fighting you have to wonder.

The stupid woman thing is just more time wasting - it's upsetting some people it seems as we're discussing corbyn when we should be discussing how to avoid no deal.

The people outside parliament are the radical right wingers - they managed to call Kay Burley a "slag" and Faisal Islam a "Rapist".

Indeed, but they are morons from goodness knows where - JC is the leader of the opposition and a sitting MP, so if he uses inappropriate language he should be held more to account. The morons are not asking people to vote for them - Corbyn is. That said, based on his recent performance (or lack thereof) it almost seems like he doesn't fancy being in power!
Before his untimely death and his starring role with comedy duo Badiel and Skinner, Jeff Astle was one of the leading scorers in the old Division 1 (golden boot in 1970). He asked a referee once what would happen if he called him a 'b'. "why I'd send you off Mr Astle". What would happen if I thought you were a 'b'? "Well Mr Astle you can think whatever you like". "I think you a 'b', referee". Got to laugh or else you will cry. Others can 'try' Corbyn.

Just leaving this here, courtesy of Santa Corbyn, delivered under the radar of the festive break.

Perhaps Labour supporting Remainers will now finally wake up to what Corbyn has always wanted...https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/dec/22/remainers-condemn-jeremy-corbyn-pledge-to-push-on-with-brexit

Yep, total last straw for me. I really, really wanted to believe in him, but no. Now what?

Oh well, here's my Christmas card for this year, and heaven help us all xxx

    • Just to warn anyone thinking of employing or engaging Chris and Anna Richmond, that nothing has changed.  The accounts above from others are all too familiar.  A job that we were told would take between 6-8 months is now entering its 23rd month.  They have taken enormous amounts of money from us, finished nothing, and the quality of the work that they have delivered is poor to substandard.  They take no responsibility themselves - there are endless excuses and everything is someone else's fault.  They do not care about the impact that their actions have on anyone else.   They are, at best, chaotic. They have not delivered as the designers or project managers that they claim to be. They are rarely on site to monitor the progress or quality of the job that is being delivered and they and manage their largely non-English speaking workforce by WhatsApp and Google translate.  There has been little evidence that they employ the skilled tradespeople needed to lay tiles, install bathrooms and kitchens, decorate and complete to the standard that we have paid for.  I cannot stress enough, that if you are currently in discussion with Anna and Chris Richmond about a future job or have paid them money up front for a job that they have slipped in delivering, to quit while you are ahead.  Things won't get better.
    • Hi All, I’d like to recommend Aaron Manser, who several others on this forum have also used. Aaron is an excellent plasterer, and has just finished a complicated piece of plastering work for me, including a large expanse of ceiling. His work has been of the highest quality, his attention to detail is exceptional, and he’s also very quick, and tidy too. As an added bonus he has a lovely singing voice. Happy to provide any photos of the work he has done. This is the third time over the past few years I’ve had Aaron back. Aaron Manser - 07773 410661 Regards, Damien
    • I really have to smile as I was the one, years ago who posted about what Gala was.. had not a clue, but drove and drive regularly. Felt such a fool at the time but wow, years later post still comes up.. with comments. Still don’t understand why a lot of park is cordoned off and glad not a resident overlooking park.. must be so noisy but now dates have been kindly supplied, those that don’t want to chill and listen to music in their flats/houses can up sticks and explore UK or abroad. Totally understand that in a built up area and millions in London, music events take place all over the capital to allow access to all.  Brockwell  Park, Dulwich Park, don’t hear anything going on in or around Telegraph Hill or indeed Horniman Gardens.. Crystal Palace I believe do their own thing.  Do these events , clearly charge, provide their own insurance, public liability, crowd control, first aiders, security and policing? Rubbish clearance etc
    • Personally I think the second weekend has always been a tactical ploy with no real intention of going ahead with it. The council then turn it down (saying they have listened to us, which of course they haven’t) and announce that they will only license one weekend. GALA get the result that they want - job done. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the council even suggested this ploy, they are so desperate to keep the event.
