I very much doubt that happens outside a shop during daytime.

I'll take my leave now (finally, I hear you say) and leave you to your self/mutual stroking on the subject of Brexit.

Edited to delete, as on reflection I can't be bothered responding to that.

Thanks! Noted that you ARE unable to admit a simple error. Wish you well, notwithstanding that too.

Yes - do trawl through - or accept you are wrong - which is what you are. I shouldn't have to waste time correcting anything as basic as this (one of the reasons I've decided to spend more time on billable hours and less time wasted on here!). If you are simply unable to admit you are wrong, then I suppose that's the end of it, but let's at least be clear on this. You have even sought to put further (misleading) words in my mouth in your last post! You said: "You've just said yourself that you do sometimes manage bank-related work." Where did I "just" say that I manage bank related work? Was it this? "...although I do spend quite a lot of time involved with bankers and banking related matters (but that's just one business sector of several that I get involved with)" If so, you may correct yourself on that last statement while you are at it. Might I suggest that if you don't want to be referred to as Trumpesque, don't make stuff up, or mischaracterise statements to support your arguments. Simple, really.

Again - you prove my point with a factual misstatement (which you will be able to go to town on now!). I have NEVER said I work as a manager in banking - ever! You have dreamt that up. Trawl back as far as you want and you will not see that appearing in a single post of mine. In keeping with someone who can be inclined to deploy a somewhat Trumpesque approach to the facts, I can't recall you ever letting the true facts get in the way of your argument, so I don't expect any correction from you! Nonetheless, I think I'm entitled to correct you on this.

I don't work in a senior job in banking (and have never said I do). Careful who you call a 'banker'! I would have thought you could have worked out what I do for a living by now, but in any event, it is not in banking, although I do spend quite a lot of time involved with bankers and banking related matters (but that's just one business sector of several that I get involved with). Anyhoo, without any foil to the worst excesses of scaremongering, factual misstatements and self-serving postings, you should from now on enjoy being closer to only having to read posts you agree with - happy days!

I do expect you will think it is super to get closer to the point where you only have to communicate with those who share precisely the same views as you.

As my account has not yet been deleted, I've read your last post and can still reply, John. I quite appreciate you have not been nasty or abusive, however there's been a shift towards the lowest common denominator within a certain small group and some of the usual suspects' posts have become increasingly puerile, not to mention abusive, which is tiresome.

I think we already know your standpoint Jen! The lack of any intelligent debate on here is sometimes exasperating! I think I'm going to leave you to it, now I know your true colours...

Helpful to know your standpoint/morals though. I can save time not bothering to read or comment on your posts.

That's hardly the point now, is it? Although we disagree on a number of things re Brexit, I hadn't thought you were that way inclined. Appears I was wrong, which is disappointing. So, in terms of unlawful/disgraceful conduct, is there nowhere you draw the line in terms of moral disapproval, provided you get the result you want? Seems not.

Says it all that you are fine with a dishonest crook just out of prison exercising what was essentially the casting vote in Parliament to pass a bill you support. If you reflect on that and change your mind, do let us know, otherwise I don't think that position reflects at all well on you (or any arguments you might voice). It's not like a dishonest football player obviously diving to get a penalty when if it's for your team you might sometimes tempted to say 'I'll take it'. This is not a game and it is rather more serious, surely?

Well, they are both utter Sh@ts putting themselves ahead of the electorate, so perhaps it's not that surprising.

  17. Clearly not locked with a Kryptonite D lock - I would venture to suggest. I don't think any self-respecting bike thief would try to angle grind a lock in a place such as that. That's the whole point of them - they take ages and a hell of a lot of noise to cut through. Sounds more like a cable lock - one quick snip and it's rendered useless in 5 seconds.
  18. That's why it's worth seeing if neighbours have anything they want to chuck out - you can share the cost and help each other out at the same time. Doesn't matter to me whether you fork out 15 quid or not. Just trying a helpful suggestion as it's worked for me in the past.

Quite! No preparations here during the last 3 years - just a running down of the blackmail clock.

Damn! I knew if I snoozed, I would lose. I'm going to head out of London to where the greater majority voted to leave - they won't be panicking (mostly because they now see their elected 'representatives' won't allow them to leave anyway) so the shelves will still be full of the basics. I can buy up the lot before word spreads.

  22. Last time you were still asking after 5 months! Isn't it easier to pay the 15 quid? You could always ask your neighbours if they have anything to add to your lot and share the cost if they do.

He is right. I've been stockpiling. No way I'm going to be caught out, come Armageddon and the great flood. I agree John - prices have sky-rocketed. It's all got completely out of hand. Prices were rising so fast at the weekend that by the time I got to the front of the check out in Sainsburys, they had re-priced and re-labelled about 75% of my selections. It's like 30's Germany all over again.
