What a surprise nil for ten now! Yep - all that 'whittling' is working well.

Hmm, that worked out well, didn't it?!!! Did you really expect it would?

    Third time unlucky TM
  4. I fear it won't be so peaceful though if the will of the majority is ignored and the promises to carry out the referendum result are broken. Careful what you wish for!
  5. Good that it was peaceful though. There were some very funny signs.
  6. I rather suspect they realise that (being crowd estimating experts)!

That's lame trolling. D- Must do better.
  8. And this... Manchester Metropolitan University?s Professor Keith Still, said ?based on the visuals from the helicopter image, it?s between 312,000 and 400,000 people.? This type of crowd estimation, called the Jacobs method, is done by dividing a crowd site area into sections, measuring the size of each section and then multiplying each area by the estimated density of people within that subsection. How did the People?s Vote estimate 1 million? The People?s Vote said they estimated the size of the crowd using information from staff and volunteers as well as examining aerial pictures from helicopters. They said that ?peak crowd densities were estimated at 4.5 people per square metre?. (For context: Professor Still says the average crowd has between two and four people standing per square metre, and anything more than four people per square metre becomes too uncomfortable to move). But even if this density of 4.5 people per square metre (visualised below) had been observed across the whole march site of roughly 160,000 square metres, that would only account for 700,000 people.
  9. Not sure what page you are looking at - this is a small part cut and pasted from the link... Claim An estimated 1 million people marched for a People?s Vote on Saturday 23rd March. Conclusion It?s impossible to say with precision how many people attended the march. However experts in crowd estimation put the number at between 312,000 and 400,000.
  10. Yes - I just gave you the link! Here's another. https://fullfact.org/about/

John, has your relative split up their money into separate banks yet?
  15. WTF is she persisting in misleading them in that deluded way?
  16. Really, does anyone now think otherwise? I've been saying for weeks that it would be an abject disaster. Staying in the EU would be far better, even leaving with no deal would be significantly better. TM's so called 'deal' is the worst of all worlds - I cannot believe it is still being pushed (although it can never pass). Is she so blinkered or stupid that she cannot see that? Her own AG's advice is that it would leave us horribly exposed (and that is IMO watered down advice that does not address the main problem of it giving away any chance of negotiating an acceptable FTA).
  17. Yes, Jenny - you were right, it was indeed a joke. As I assume this was? "They need to disabuse themselves of the quaint notion that Teresa May has all the answers (or indeed any answers)." (Given that there's hardly any living breathing person in Westminster that thinks May has ANY of the answers!)
  18. Just about another 15 million to go...
  19. I've just read the road closure thread - I think it must have been something to do with that one. Shame, I rather liked Rendel even though we used to disagree on stuff and he could sometimes be pretty rude if you did disagree with him. I think he maybe just got carried away a bit sometimes (as we all do).

  21. Here's a very up to date poll - Ipsos-MORI out today - TM has a net satisfaction score of -36 JC has a net satisfaction score of -50 "Leader & Government Satisfaction Ratings Theresa May now sees her worst leadership satisfaction ratings since she became Prime Minister. Three in ten say they?re satisfied with the way she is doing her job (29%, down 4 points) while two-thirds are dissatisfied (65%, up 7 points) ? leaving her a net satisfaction score of -36. The Government also sees the lowest satisfaction scores for the way it is running the country for any administration since John Major?s premiership. Just 11% are satisfied with the Government (down 11 points) with 86% dissatisfied (up 15 points) giving it a net satisfaction score of -75. Net satisfaction with the Government (1979 ? 2019) Conservative supporters remain positive on balance about Theresa May with 63% saying they?re satisfied in her, but they are less happy with the government overall ? 71% are dissatisfied (up 24 points). Jeremy Corbyn?s leadership satisfaction scores also remain low. One in five are satisfied (20%, up 3 points) with the way he is doing his job as Labour leader while 70% are dissatisfied (down 2 points) ? leaving him a net satisfaction score of -50. Labour supporters are still very much split as well ? 42% are satisfied in him (down 2 points) while 40% are dissatisfied (down 6 points)."
  22. Agreed. Also, I can't see how Labour could win a GE with Corbyn still at the helm. As he continued to demonstrate with his absurdly petulant behaviour 2 nights ago, his judgment is just as flawed and he is just as incompetent as May (and that's really saying something). Any other opposition leader, given the omnishambles of this government, would be about 25 points clear in the polls! YouGov have him 2 points behind Boris Johnson!
