My fantasy would be a broad coalition government including SNP etc.

This thread by Robert Saunders is a good explainer of how both May and Corbyn derive their authority from outside Parliament, and so undermine our whole political system. The fact that neither of them is fit to hold public office doesn't help.

May 7th seems to be off the table - Alberto Nardelli now reporting on Twitter

'EUCO agrees to an extension to 22 May, provided WA is approved by the HoC next week. If the WA is not approved by the HoC next week, EUCO agrees to an extension until 12 April, expects UK to indicate a way forward for the consideration of EUCO'.

May was asked is she had a Plan B if the WA didn't get approved, she didn't have one so they've giver her one instead. The national humiliation continues...

"But one thing is clear - barring dramatic developments, it confirms that the UK will not be leaving the EU on 29 March as originally intended."

This is the last sentence in an article on the BBC News website. I don't think it can be correct because as UK law stands it leaves the EU on March 29th. The two extensions offered (so far) are based on the PM getting agreement to the WA through the HOC, which is unlikely to happen. The 2 week extension is to allow the UK govt. to put in place the necessary legislation to participate in the European elections. This one puzzles me. Either way how do those supersede current UK law.

I think the comment is assuming an awful lot unless I'm missing something. Am I?

Doesn't the April extension apply only if the WA doesn't pass?

Yes you're right. Wouldn't make sense if it wasn't for that reason. Seems May if going to put in place whatever is necessary to allow both as dates for when the UK leaves.

Agreed that the 29th March date is still in UK law. The 12th is aimed at parliament taking control if Mays deal fails or never gets voted on again. EU was planning on calling a special summit next week but after being horrified by May's performance in her interview decided to act now.

It's like the EU bangs some sense into her then she loses it again a few days later.

She was still going on about "my deal or we leave on the 12 April with no deal" this morning though.

Sky News saying there could be a plan (backed by No10) for a commons vote on 7 options if MV3 fails.

Revoke A50

2nd Referendum

Mays deal

Mays deal + Customs union (Corbyn)

Mays deal + Customs union + single market (Corbyn+ LOL)

Standard free trade agreement

No deal

Is that the EU plan ? I'll believe it when I see it - and she's sneaked her deal in again I notice.

Strangely in parallel to this

"Senior MPs in the cross-party group that aims to take control of the Brexit process and identify a Plan B are going to meet chief EU negotiator Michel Barnier in Brussels on Monday, the Evening Standard has learned. They will tell him that the Commons is now ready and able to deliver a stable Brexit plan independently of Mrs May."

"Sir Oliver Letwin, architect of the cross-party bid to seize the Commons agenda and pass a better Brexit plan, went into the Cabinet Office this afternoon for talks with David Lidington, Mrs May?s de facto deputy. "
