Wise Teens Summer Yoga Retreat

Peckham Rye Park Nature Reserve

I am really happy to announce our Summer Holiday Yoga Retreat & Mini-Course. If you are still making plans for the summer holidays then take a look at our dates. In the first two weeks of August, we are offering four sessions of yoga, games, mindfulness and nature craft in the beautiful surroundings of Peckham Rye Park Nature Reserve. The Nature Reserve is a dedicated gated space used for Forest Schooling so it is safe, private and we will have exclusive use of it. We will do nature inspired yoga and we will forage for craft materials to do nature craft along with relaxing and mindfulness under the trees. It will be a lovely way to spend time outdoors, have a crash course to yoga or explore their yoga further.

Hi Sarah,

Good question - The retreat is designed to cope with this and if there are the numbers then we will make groups and partners.

We have a great Teen Class starting in September on Thursdays for 14 +.

PM me your email if you are interested.

Mehala

Hi Mehala

We're going to ask him if he'd like to do one day of your yoga workshop in PR Park anyway, and hopefully he'll say yes and then do the following three days also.

Yes please, do keep me informed about your Teen Class for September, we're looking for a mindfulness and yoga class ideally - a class specifically teaching mindfulness methods for teens. But we also know that doing yoga crosses over with this anyway and would be great for him.

I'll get back and hopefully book nearer the time but as soon as possible. Please could you send details of booking for September?

Thanks.

Sarah

    • Missing Cat! 11 months old/ Our friend, Coco, has gone missing. Last seen evening of 31st October near top of Henslowe rd where it meets Underhill Rd in SE22. We know she has started wandering up Friern Rd and further we guess but we imagine she has been spooked by Halloween / Fireworks goings on. She is a grey Siberian mix with some brown stripes down her, very friendly and likes to eat. Please let us know
    • That said, organised displays could be on Saturday before and after and the actual day, and private ones could just not have the loud ones.  It’s all down to accessibility and people caring/not caring
    • The problem this year is that 5th November falls on a Wednesday. So some places will be bringing their "bonfire night" forward to Saturday 1st and some will be knocking it back to Saturday 8th and there'll probably be a few that just go with Wednesday 5th anyway. If you're doing a public display, having it on a weekend gets more crowds. Which basically means a solid week of fireworks.
    • Fireworks in this area do feel totally incessant at this time of year, almost every evening there is terrible noise. I feel great concern for wildlife, pets (I have a senior cat who hates them), as well as people who struggle with PTSD etc. Last year I even had people setting them off in front of my home. Tonight and yesterday evening have been particularly bad. Is there anything we can do as a community to prevent this? What action can we take? Surely we shouldn’t be expected to just put up with it every year for weeks on end!
