Best holiday rental websites?

Anyone got any suggestions?

I think given we have to travel at peak time (hubbie is a teacher) it's going to be most affordable if we go for a site which advertises directly on behalf of the owners....so any tips welcome. At the moment I am open minded about where, but thinking unspoilt Ibiza (never been), or south of France maybe. We'd be travelling with my parents and our then 1-yr old.

Also how concerned would you be about the heat at this time of year with a 1-yr old? With minimal exposure and careful use of sun cream, shade, air con etc, it'll be OK won't it?!

Have used holidaylettings.co.uk for the past few years and always have really great apartments. I'm not sure if it's because I only go for the ones with air-conditioning that they are modern and well-kept.

I've used all of the above sites without any problem. If you're thinking about going to the south if France have you considered going by eurostar? There is a direct train from st pancras to Avignon in the summer and it only takes 5 hours. We did it last year and it was great.

We used 2 times the website "Homelidays.com" for skiing holidays in France and we were very satisfied.

Its a french website but you can find rentals all over the Europe with french owners in direct.

You would have understand that we are a french family, so apologize for my mistakes in my english writting!

Thanks jollybaby - that train sounds good, will consider it. We did travel to Cap Ferret and Bordeaux by train 3 years ago, but it wasn't so direct - have to cross Paris on the metro etc - wouldn't enjoy it with the baby I don't think.
