Hi All,

Here is a refresher of the passport service Shot By The Sheriff Photography offer.

We are in East Dulwich - just off Lordship Lane.

We are now in a lovely 2 story mews house in - THE OLD STABLE HOUSE behind Jo Partridge hairdressers on North Cross Road. Look for the blue metal gates that look like a tree with birds in.

Just a reminder that this is not a pop in studio - you always need to book an appointment, as we operate a very busy studio and do not wish you to have a wasted trip if we are already on a shoot.

We charge ?10 for passport photos.

We have the official 10% grey background required by the passport office and also specialist software that ensures the head size is the exact required size. We also have the same checking template that the post office use. We also have a Bumbo seat for babies to be supported in or cushioned background for really young babies.

We guarantee acceptance by the Passport Office and will also not charge if the baby throws a paddy and I am unable to get a nice picture (very rare but kids will be kids and it does happen).

We supply a minimum of 4 photos and a photo keyring(for babies and kids).

We have supplied passport/visa photos to many different nationalities meeting their countries particular requirements.

We print on dye sublimation printers that are fast ( 22 seconds ) and on paper that is acceptable to all countries passport offices.

Hope this helps,

Keith and Nicky Sheriff

Hi Everyone,

Just a little update on the pricing for our passport service here at Shot by The Sheriff Photography.

All UK passports for adults and children/babies that are able to sit up (I don't mind if they need to use the Bumbo seat that we have to aid them) are going to be charged at ?15.

All UK passport photos for babies that cannot sit up (even with the help of Bumbo seat - i.e most babies under about 12 weeks old) and must therefore be photographed lying down are now going to be charged at ?20.

Any NON-UK passport or visa photos for adults or children are also now ?20.

The reason for this price increase (our first since September 2007) has a number of reasons.

Firstly we are getting an increasing number of people who have used either an online service / photobooth or just a not very good photographer who have had their photos refused by the passport office (some EVEN AFTER using the Post Office "Check and Send" service !)

We have never had a passport or visa photo refused because we will spend the time necessary to get what is needed. With babies this often involves 1/2 hour of our time (sometimes more if the baby needs feeding/changing).

As for the NON-UK passports it's just a case of having to look up the different countries passport photo guidlines as many have been changing them month to month or are just plain time consuming to do (giving head sizes in percentages of the photo size rather than in milimeters for example !)

We did try to withdraw our passport service at the begining of the year because they were just not cost effective for us to continue doing at the standard we like to maintain but due to demaand have decided to keep it going.

You are of course welcome to try other services but if you want a hassle free quality photo (we are not snappy snaps after all) that has guaranteed acceptance by the passport office please come and see us.

Just a reminder that this is not a pop in studio - you always need to book an appointment, as we operate a very busy studio and do not wish you to have a wasted trip if we are already on a shoot.

We are located off Lordship Lane up North Cross Road at No4 The Old Stable House. Look for the blue iron gates next to Jo Partidge's Hair.

Thanks,

Keith and Nicky Sheriff

    • Its that time of year again, past Christmas day and late delayed cards are turning up. How late are your cards arriving ?  Last year I had one delivered 4 weeks late. Can that be beaten this year ?
    • Sadly, a lot of businesses didn't invite reviews on the EDF at that time due to a number of "negative nellies" that would take delight in posting unfavourable comments, often despite never being to the business in question.  No matter how good the place was, some posters would find fault that wasn't there "don't lile the colour of the bidet set in the private bathroom, avocado 😅" Can hardly blame businesses at the time for not wanting reviews on here, thankfully that has mostly changed now.
    • Was that the Hare Krishna place? I can't remember exactly where it was (or maybe still is) but it was somewhere around Oxford Street.
    • The "for sale" section on this forum lets people offer things for free or cheaply. And the "wanted" section let's people ask for things they want or need, for free or cheaply. There are also existing schemes like Freecycle, and also local  food banks. And there is (or was) a local scheme where you can bring things to be repaired free. I think it is/was based in Nunhead. Isn't that simpler than having a barter system? You might have something to give away, but the person who wants it might not have anything you want. Or have I misunderstood how it works? I can see that offering services free might not fit into existing schemes, but depending on what they were, what would happen if things went horribly wrong eg someone wrecked your house? Sorry if the above sounds very negative.
