King Size bed FREE : withdrawn for the moment. Apologies.

Dear All - many thanks to all ten of you who have responded. I'm having to take the bed offline for the moment whilst I sort out a couple of domestic things. I have ALL your names on file (so even if I have not responded to you, you are not being ignored).

We have a John Lewis Halstead Walnut Bedstead / bed / mattress.

Measurements :

H :height of headboard (floor to top)94cm / height of bed footboard 43cm / height of bed inc mattress 61cm

L : mattress length 194cm / bed length 212cm / depth of mattress 25cm

W : mattress width 150cm / bed width 168cm

The bed is very heavy to lift and needs to be dismantled. You may need a small van to transport. We have no idea if or how it can be dismantled. The mattress is heavy and clean except for a very large spilt tea stain. There is a brand new firm IKEA mattress topper on top of the very soft mattress. There seems to be a single unattached drawer underneath the bed too.

We are happy to give this away for free (total cost was around ?1000) to anyone (preferably two strong people) who can take it away. We are in a ground floor flat very near the Camberwell School of Art, Peckham Road SE5). Am unable to attach photos but very happy to email them on request.

    • I would love something like this..I remember the one where Gails is now..It had some bric a brac furniture and 2nd hand clothes, I don't remeber the Oyster bar. The issue with the one on Zenoria St-And I speak as a long time habitué of Portobello, Kensington Market, Alfies,Spitalfields,Covent Garden (back when it had a decent vintage market on Mondays in the 80's and Early 90's) ..Was that a lot of the stuff they sold looked a bit meh..like a bad car boot fair. I also remember when we first moved here a small indoor market on the corner of North X road and Felbrigg rd that had bric a brac and bits of furniture..That one had some good stuff. I think the secret is in having a good mix of stalls selling well curated pieces at decent prices...It would also be good to have a few tables and rails available to rent for one-off sellers (car boot style) by application. When I lived in Notting Hill I used to do Portobello under the flyover a couple of times a year and made really decent money because people tended to go there on sundays for the Casual stallholders rather the same dealers selling the same stuff.
