  1. Yes I agree that DMC on Chadwick Road is pretty awful. Like a curate's egg they are good in parts (small parts)- the reception staff are either grudging or patronising.

  3. I am in a parking zone in Camberwell. Yes the residents can park easier now BUT there are lots of downsides. I'd say partial timings is the only way to go (everywhere in the UK).
  4. Many thanks Pugwash. You'll see my message above. I'll certainly look at Southwark Pensioners too as I might join myself!
  5. Hi Michelle - we have decided to go with Bluebird as my husband is now (suddenly) quite poorly. I could have done with you 6 months ago! But do call round as I am looking for respite care too.
  6. Thanks - I had a look and they seem good but don't cover our part of the world (eg SE London)
  7. Now looking for a responsible male carer to shower, shave, dress my 70 year old husband every morning. Suggestions, advice (I know about checks etc) and / or referrals much appreciated. In SE15 area.
  8. I would like an expert - not a DIY person but someone who has built sheds before - to help me choose a 4m by 2.50m insulated studio shed / clear the corner of the garden in readiness / lay concrete base and install. To include electrics too. Any ideas or referrals please? We are based in Camberwell.
  9. I urgently need a DIY person who is kind and considerate as well as having experience in putting up /installing wooden hand rails around the walls of our small ground floor flat. We live in SE5 almost opposite the Camberwell School of Arts on Peckham Road.
  10. I have a side return (passage running down the side of the house) which needs a door at the entrance and a roof (corrugated plastic?) so I can store bikes wheelchairs etc. Any recommended names or suggestions please? Am in SE5 8QF.
  11. Yes please that would be great. SpringTime Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think I know someone near you who'd be happy to > help. If the person is willing I'll PM you contact > details.
  12. I rang them but no joy - maybe I'll try again. 13. I hope this request is in the correct section of EDF! Wanted ? a friendly volunteer walking companion My husband (72) would appreciate someone to pop round mid afternoon (usually any day of the week) to accompany Nick (and his cute little Dachshund Diggory) for a very slow walk round the block, or to a local caf? (free tea and a bun of course) or the local park. Would suit an active pensioner or someone looking to enhance their CV or a young person doing their Youth Award (or similar). Must be a friendly reliable volunteer who is not in a hurry (each walk could be around one hour). Around the Bushey Hill Road area (SE5 8QF). PM me for further information.

  15. Desperate for a sympathetic podiatrist / pedicurist / etc to offer pedicure (and manicure) sessions for an older couple either in their home or at the clinic / beauty studio if on the ground floor. Suggestions most welcome.
  16. I am following on from a long list of recommendations for Aria & brothers([email protected]) who did a great job on my shower controls (which meant the shower had been leaking for several months previously)today. Am going to use Aria's Dad (eco dulwich gardening - 07538 760671)too for his gardening expertise. A great family!
  17. I am looking for a physical therapist (PT) to work with my husband for one hour or two hours twice a week with simple exercises recommended by our NHS physiotherapist. The PT can be in training, a student on a relevant course or a qualified retired person. Self referrals, suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated along with suggested hourly rates. Thanks!
  18. Same here. No luck so far. Only option is to send it to their factory in Wiltshire which I'm not doing.
  19. I tried but no luck.a shame as I'm desperate to get vac repaired.
  20. Thanks for that - I got two young guys the following morning who did everything very quickly. Thanks to everyone who responded. I hope I replied to you all.
  21. I have 2 adjustable beds (can move top or bottom of bed by controls) joined together as a double bed - they are held together by metal bars. I need them separating and one moving into another bedroom nearby. They are VERY heavy (because they carry a motor inside to make the bed adjustable / raised or lowered into position) so it will need two men to carry. (the other small 5 min job is to move 6 small bags of gravel outside a few yards - I just can't lift them!) This job is quite urgent so dates and rates would be a great help asap. SE5 8QF.
  22. Have had a look here already - does anyone know of local line dancing classes - be great if they were in the afternoon!
  23. I used Smith41 last week. He was excellent. Clean, polite, punctual, hardworking, good with text messages (ie you knew exactly what was happening). Great. 0781 856 8095
  24. Many thanks to everyone who replied. I went with someone who was comfortable with texting messages and sounded as though he knew what he (and his mate) were doing. I notice someone else was asking for a man with a van and I posted this : "I used Smith41 last week. He was excellent. Clean, polite, punctual, hardworking, good with text messages (ie you knew exactly what was happening). Great". (07818568095) Others looked good too and I suggested 2 of them re-post their replies and quotes here.
