Mons Cheesemongers

Recommended Posts

Not a pop-up.

It's by Franklins farm shop.

To some it'll be a premium cheese emporium with great quality and choice, to others a jumped-up over-priced privileged cheese shop which could be avoided by buying 500g 3-for-2 at Co-Op.

Just to state the predictable before the diatribe begins.

I'll be popping in myself for a treat now and again hopefully to learn something as apparently this guy knows his shit.

Could give the Cheese Block a run for it's money.

Don't actually eat much cheese myself. Tend to buy Stilton (I get fads)occasionally, but it seems to

sit at the back of the fridge till it goes rotten and gets thrown away.

One of those food stuffs I wished I liked. Bit like Tomatoes which I have a weired phobia for.

Foxy

Do hope he also knows his cheese!!!

Cheese Block has other items other than cheese, things like charcuterie etc. I hope both survive.

Mons is new and pretty dandy. And Mr Mons is a renowned cheese monger of some repute.

His shop is a place where many will flock from miles around I suspect. It looks interesting too if you look at the walls and floor, they're designed to keep the climate good for tip-top cheese conditioning.

    • Love Dulwich is great but has a large step in front. We have only been weekdays at Lunch time. Maria's next to Picture House is disabled friendly. Also can reserve table in advance. We did a Sunday lunch catch up with family - there were 8 of us.
    • Hi, Thinking about  going with some friends and was just wondering if folk might like to report back please. Most importantly sound level when busy & is it disabled friendly.  Thinking on a Sunday lunchtime but don’t want a busy busy environment or loud chatter - a couple of friends could not cope. Time can be flexible, if that helps - say 2 ish to avoid above.. Thanks…
    • Nice that the drinks have started up again. I used to arrange them when they first started and I met some good friends through them. We used to get 30+ people going at one point. The karaoke night at The Wishing Well was very memorable!
    • Yes, absolutely! in comparison to now, you are 100% correct!
