Ad Hoc Baby Sitting / Childcare over Summer Holiday / general summer saviour :)

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am a local mum of two, 4yrs and 16 months. I am offering my child care services for those of you who may need help over the summer. I am happy to come to your house or if you would prefer, your children are very welcome to come to me. Inspections are welcome.

I have a masters in printed Textiles and we are a very creative house, lots of arts and crafts projects for children. many musical instruments for them to try out and a few drums to bang! Lots of Out door time, digging in the vegetable patch, nature play and kids yoga on occasion.

I have worked previously with disassociated teens, using arts and drama to build self confidence and work through emotional problems as well as looking after lots of local children along side my own. The more the merrier in my book.

I have experience with 0 - 7yrs and 14 - 16 yrs.

I am a very gentle person but not permissive and work with the children in my care to create clear boundaries so that they may play freely.

I am an experienced home cook making healthy nutritious meals for my children and am happy to do the same for you. I can cater to many different diet types, all organic, vegetarian, coeliac vegan etc or just make what ever you see fit.

I can provide references but must state I am not ofsted registered. Also if its not clear, I will have my children with me whilst working which I tend to find works tremendously well as they are both very social and I believe in mixed ages playing together.

If this floats your boat or you just wake up during the summer holidays and want a day off Please do not hesitate to give me a call on 07583029102 (Alison).

    • Let’s not all get scared of the foxes now. Most likely explanation is protecting its den or association with food. We have foxes, and cats and they are no bother to each other. The fox will leave when the cats are out.
    • I remember seeing something a few years ago on TV about a fox that was actually biting through people's shopping / takeaway food bags.  It was situated in an alleyway.  Not in London.  Very interesting in how the  urban foxes brain development has  been affected by their surroundings.   Not an exact quote from Darwin.  It's the adaptable that survive / not the strongest or the most intelligent.   I would be worried if a fox came close me.   Because they might be after my fur babies and they carry a lot of nasties.   Although they look beautiful from a distance or on a 🎄 card.
    • Driving down Lordship lane around 2.45pm today saw a v sick looking fox walking in and out of the crowd.
    • I know I'm a bit premature but don't want to forget through too much Chrisntas cheer! Southwark Council Christmas trees recycling arrangements 2025 - bit worrying for the future that they're emphasising the free bit. "We’ll collect and recycle your real Christmas tree for free!  Trees should not be taller than 5ft. You should chop any taller trees into smaller pieces. Remove all decorations and the pot or stand and recycle it by: putting your tree with your garden waste containers on collection day requesting a free collection if you do not have a garden waste collection  taking it to our Reuse and Recycling Centre [43 Devon Street, SE15 1AL open 08:30-16:30 Mon-Sun] If you live in a flat you must leave the tree: outside on the kerb visible for the collection crew not in a bin store" I'll add the link to the collection booking service when it opens on 22 December.
