Hi everyone

I am running several baby massage programmes for NCT groups in ED. One programme has unexpectedly become available on the following dates:

Tuesday 15 March (either 10am or 12pm)

Tuesday 22 March (either 10am or 12pm)

Tuesday 29 March (either 10am or 12pm)

Tuesday 5 April (either 10am or 12pm)

The mums either take it in turns to host a session at their home or one mum hosts the whole four week session at her home.

Each session runs for no more than 60 mintes to make it a comfortable experience for both mother and baby.

What to expect:

You will learn the art of massaging your baby, the wonderful benefits involved and, of course, take this life long experience away with you!

Baby massage is a wonderful way to communicate and find that special moment between you and your baby. Research shows that baby massage can help improve blood circulation for babies and relieve stress for parents! Baby massage can also help relieve the discomfort of gas, constipation and colic and, as well as aiding digestion and not forgetting to mention, promotes better sleep! These are just a few examples of why baby massage should be an activity that is incorporated into your daily routine to give you and your baby that special 'moment' that you might otherwise miss out on due to busy life-style.

Included in this programme, all participants receive a 50ml bottle of pure vegetable oil, class handouts explaining all the relevant strokes as well as other useful information and a certificate on completion of the course.

Fees:

Two participants - ?160.00

Three participants - ?200.00

Four to eight participants - ?260.00

By the end of the programme, you will be able to massage your baby confidently, have found a way to incorporate massage into your baby's daily routine and, of course, help your baby relieve discomfort in the most natural, nurturing way possible. This is also a wonderful oppotunity to show what you have learned to your partner so that they may take over and have their own bonding session with your baby and perhaps give you a much needed break!

    • Really? Yes you are probably right as I know from personal experience with Guys… as I claiming travel costs back, that no one told me I could claim! Left hand does not know what right hand is doing regarding admin..  If they charged people for wasting overstretched staff in A& E as in not urgent just might deter people from wasting precious time…. But then you need interpreters, to explain if language is a barrier and admin staff to administer..  Correct me if I am wrong but is there not a train from Denmark Hill or East Dulwich which goes to London Bridge? Would be faster than 2 buses I would have thought.    Oh, forgot about Tessa Jowell but thought you needed GP referral in which case, that would be the place to go rather than a bigger hospital. Know there is one in Beckenham and you can call and they will give you an idea as to wait time…..same I hope at TJ…assuming they answer phone.. If one really things about it…too many  people in London for example and to few hospitals…
    • I don’t think it’s licensed for Sundays. It is licences for Fridays, but there hasn’t been anyone there on a Friday for years. So I doubt it. i think there’s a market at the Horniman on Sundays. Also pretty sure there’s one outside Herve Hill station on a Sunday.
    • I believe there is a minor injuries department at Guys, though I may have misremembered. Not very convenient for SE22 now the 40 no longer goes near. You have to get 2 buses or a train. Charging people (not sure if you mean financially or legally) would waste a lot more time, I would have thought? And  a bad bruise could be serious, depending on the cause and possibly other symptoms.
    • Good news - parliamentary debate scheduled for 19 January!
