Have all the paperwork and have been meaning to get this done for my 7 month old daughter for months! I think it's three weeks, possibly two if you do the check and send service at the post office (about ?8.00). I know you can't do the very fast turnaround for first passports because of the extra paperwork involved.

I did this a month or so ago for my baby - took just under 2 weeks using the Check and Send service. The hard part was making sure I was home when it got delivered - I missed the delivery a couple of times as my daughter objected to being stuck inside all day (you can pay for a specific time slot I think). They can't leave it with a neighbour as they need to see your ID.

You just get a normal passport application from the PO. I got the photo done at Shot the Sherrif - they were great.

yOU CAN DO THE FORM ONLINE AND GET IT PoSTED TO YOU TO SIGN, THEN TAKE IT TO THE po IN f hILL rD AND THEY WILL DO THE PICS, check and sign

Oops, excuse caps

Ours took about a week...

Site says tajes 2w, up to 4 if you use the online form

we had photos done by Shot by the Sheriff, then did the check and send service at the PO - they said allow 3 weeks but cae back in less than 2 :-)

Most time consuming part was getting the birth certificate issued - had to wait weeks for an appointment!

Hi Everyone,

Just a little update on the pricing for our passport service here at Shot by The Sheriff Photography.

All UK passports for adults and children/babies that are able to sit up (I don't mind if they need to use the Bumbo seat that we have to aid them) are going to be charged at ?15.

All UK passport photos for babies that cannot sit up (even with the help of Bumbo seat - i.e most babies under about 12 weeks old) and must therefore be photographed lying down are now going to be charged at ?20.

Any NON-UK passport or visa photos for adults or children are also now ?20.

The reason for this price increase (our first since September 2007) has a number of reasons.

Firstly we are getting an increasing number of people who have used either an online service / photobooth or just a not very good photographer who have had their photos refused by the passport office (some EVEN AFTER using the Post Office "Check and Send" service !)

We have never had a passport or visa photo refused because we will spend the time necessary to get what is needed. With babies this often involves 1/2 hour of our time (sometimes more if the baby needs feeding/changing).

As for the NON-UK passports it's just a case of having to look up the different countries passport photo guidlines as many have been changing them month to month or are just plain time consuming to do (giving head sizes in percentages of the photo size rather than in milimeters for example !)

We did try to withdraw our passport service at the begining of the year because they were just not cost effective for us to continue doing at the standard we like to maintain but due to demaand have decided to keep it going.

You are of course welcome to try other services but if you want a hassle free quality photo (we are not snappy snaps after all) that has guaranteed acceptance by the passport office please come and see us.

Just a reminder that this is not a pop in studio - you always need to book an appointment, as we operate a very busy studio and do not wish you to have a wasted trip if we are already on a shoot.

We are located off Lordship Lane up North Cross Road at No4 The Old Stable House. Look for the blue iron gates next to Jo Partidge's Hair.

Thanks,

Keith and Nicky Sheriff

    • 🤣  After a horrible very long day at work I came home..read this post and laughed out loud....thank you! We made the error of visiting the one in Dulwich just after it opened...you missed nothing. I dont mind paying a bit more for something decent but honestly it was one of the most underwhelming badly cooked meals I've eaten,  with an accompnayment of awful muzak and dire dire service . really overpriced too I agree.
    • But you started this thread back in 2023 James! You must have known this site would be going ahead? Now you’re saying 12-18 months.
    • Such developments typically have 6-18months resolving all the conditions imposed on the approve scheme. While this going on they'll be lining up the constructions contractors, project management, etc. I'd guess 12-18months time.
    • this makes me realise how the world has changed...in the 90's I lived in Chelsea which you'd assume was a pretty safe neighbourhood..One night someone stole my beautiful and heavy  (they were made of stone or concrete) fully planted windowboxes from my windowsills..I lived in a raised ground floor flat with a pretty steep drop to the basement, They must have climbed over the railings on the stairs and onto the sill then passed them to an accomplice..Impossible to do this solo. They also stole a beautiful stone owl that I had on the sill. I reported the theft to the police-this was the days before ring doorbells etc-they came filed a report and description of the stolen goods AND I got a letter and phone call from victims support!
