  1. I have also recently sold through No-Flies and I can't recommend them highly enough. Tony and Brendan were a pleasure to deal with. They are experienced, realistic, totally honest and very communicative. They made the process hassle free and straight forward and all for a fair price. If you are selling a house you should use them.
  2. Russell is great. He has done a few roofing jobs for me over the years and is very reliable and straightforward. I recently called him to check out a small leak into my loft room. Turns out it was a very quick fix and he didn't charge me anything for his trouble. There is no one else I would call for my roofing needs!
  3. I called Wayne a few days ago having seen these reviews. I had just returned from a very muddy camping trip which left the inside of my car caked in mud from all the dirty camping gear. Wayne worked wonders on it. He's very hard working & I highly recommend his services.
  4. I would like a structural engineer (or maybe just a surveyor?) to come and inspect my house following the completion of some recent building work. I have noticed a few cracks appear and want to know if they have been caused by the building work or are unrelated. I want either peace of mind or advice on next steps if there is a problem. I don't know if I need a surveyor or a structural engineer. Can anyone advise on this and have any recommendations? Also does anyone have any idea how much (ballpark) this kind of review would cost? Thanks!
  5. Try Oakley Hotel for Cats. It's in Bromley so a bit of a trek but my 2 went there last year when I had building work done and I was really happy with it. Have used it once since when I went on holiday for 2 weeks.
  6. I have an Ikea day bed being delivered on Sunday morning (to Nunhead) and I need someone to put it together for me that afternoon. Any recommendations? I have heard there is someone who does this all the time but I can't find any details on here. Thanks!

  9. Hi DiGio, I used to take my little one to Wavelengths in Deptford for Waterbabies classes. I live in Nunhead so it only took just over 10 mins in the car with plenty of parking. Its a bit more faff on public transport though. Waterbabies have temporarily stopped classes at Wavelengths though (restarting in Jan I think) so we now go to Downside pool near London Bridge. Again very easy by car and free parking nearby (our class is early on a Sat morning though). It's in the congestion zone though so not one to drive to on a weekday (they swim there on a Tues too), but is easy on the train from ED. They are also starting lessons somewhere near Burgess Park from next month (not sure exactly where). Different levels are on different days at different pools though and there is generally a waiting list so I suggest you call the office (Sarah is the franchise holder for the area and is lovely) and she can tell you what's what.
  10. I live near Peckham Rye and usually do the Blackwall tunnel, M11, M25, M1 route. It's longer in distance than going through town but less frustrating as less stop /start and usually therefore a bit quicker. We did this last Sunday mid morning and got to J13 of the M1 in 1 hr 45 from home. There was trouble on the M25 coming back early evening though so came back through town past Kings Cross and over Blackfriars Bridge - took 2.5 hrs.
  11. I did this a month or so ago for my baby - took just under 2 weeks using the Check and Send service. The hard part was making sure I was home when it got delivered - I missed the delivery a couple of times as my daughter objected to being stuck inside all day (you can pay for a specific time slot I think). They can't leave it with a neighbour as they need to see your ID. You just get a normal passport application from the PO. I got the photo done at Shot the Sherrif - they were great.
  12. First thing - don't panic. Leg creases are only one of the markers and does not automatically mean there is anything wrong with your son's hips. Is one leg visibly longer than the other? That is another marker. My little girl (now 9 months) was born with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip - DDH. Her hips were dislocatable - not dislocated), this was picked up at birth. She was in a Pavlik harness from when she was 10 days old up until she was 3 months old ? in honesty it was hard to deal with at the time (for us parents rather than our daughter ? who was oblivious fortunately) but it feels like ancient history now and her hips are perfect so it was worth the short term angst. We were seen by the Kings paediatric orthopaedic team who were all brilliant. As far as I recall (from conversations with the Kings staff) the treatment for older babies is often different from the harness that we had to use, but its just as successful. If treatment is needed you will be in such good hands Try not to worry for now as it?s so easy to imagine the worst? perhaps in the days leading up to your appointment do a bit of research on the treatment options just in case (the Steps Charity website is useful) and get all your Q?s planned out. We found that as soon as they realised there was a problem with our baby?s hips they wanted to put the hip harness on there and then so we had no time to get our heads around it and think about what we needed to ask. I hope you get good news at your son?s ultrasound but if he does need treatment you will all get through it and in the long term it will be so so worth it. Feel free to PM me if you have any Q?s.   13. I am going back to work next month after having my first baby 9 months ago so I totally relate to your worries. When my baby was 6 months old I was very upset about the thought of going back - I was regularly teary and generally miserable about the idea. However, 3 months on and with my return to work round the corner I am feeling much more ready to go back and I'm almost looking forward to the challenge of being a working mum (wierd I know!). I also think it will be good for both me and my increasingly mobile daughter to be apart a bit and I am quite looking forward to having some time to myself on the communte. What has made it all a bit easier is that I'll go back 4 days a week and my partner will also compress his hours to 4 days so my baby will only be in childcare for 3 days a week. My partner will do the morning drop off at nursery and I will be adjusting my hours to 8-4 or 8.30 - 4.30 so that I'll do pick up and get more time with her in the evening. Once I get settled back into my job I will also ask to work from home once a fortnight so that I can do a later drop off and earlier pick up every now and then. Perhaps these are all options you could consider? To be honest I can't imagine trying to have a constructive days work at home if my daughter is there too. Once they start crawling /standing it gets much harder to get on with anything else! When I start to have a wobble about going back I just remind myself of all the lovely things we'll be able to do with my daughter with a bit more money coming in and how much fun she'll have at nursery on the 3 days she will be there. good luck!
  14. I asked about this at Kings when I was in for an outpatient appt a few months ago as I had a very difficult birth last June and wanted a copy of the notes for future reference. They told me it would be ?50 to get a get a copy which I thought was outrageous so I didn't bother. I'll follow up with PALS though as someone above was told it was ?25 which I would be prepared to pay.
  15. I go to fitness for Mummies on Wednesday mornings in Honor Oak Park for a cardio and core muscle workout. There is a playmat for babies or you can leave them in the buggy or car seat for a nap. Its inside and the teacher is lovely. You can break whenever you want to feed / change babies or give them a cuddle. Its drop in and ?5 a session or ?20 for a block of 5.
