Two boxes of books to give away, any library or charity that might need them?

Hello everyone, I am new to the area and I wanted to donate two boxes full of books. Do you know if any library or charity could need them?

You could try the three charity shops in East Dulwich (Two hospice shops on Lordship Lane, Mind shop on the roundabout) but ask before you take the books as they may say they have too many already :(

I've recently discovered the British Heart Foundation will collect books and other items

If the charity shops in ED don't want them, there is an Oxfam bookshop in Herne Hill.

There are second hand book sellers at Haynes Lane Market in Crystal Palace, who might be willing to give you a small donation for them.

Or you could put them outside your house on a dry day and see if any of your neighbours or passing pedestrians might take a few. I find this is a good way of passing on unwanted books.

Sydenham library will take them with pleasure - they sell them to raise funds to pay their running costs.

They are not open every day though:

Mon and Sat 0930-1700

Tue and Thur 0930-1900

Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers (SDCAS) have a regular bookstall at the Copleston Centre to raise funds for the charity. You could approach them:
