  1. Henry are used by many professional cleaning firms. Very reliable.
  2. With regard to Sue's comment about not wanting to slide about oin one's back under the floor, I have found a firm called Q-bot https://q-bot.co/ who use a robot device to spray foam under the floorboards. Not sure, but could be a help?
  3. Malumbu said "Winter '63 was one of the coldest in memory" It was, in fact, the coldest winter (actually 1962-3) since 1740 - according to the Central England Temperature (CET) record extending back to 1659.
  4. I guess the nearest is at High Wood in Lordship Lane (towards F Hill). Can't say whether it's any good though
  5. I have an electric bike - it was adapted using a Swytch kit (see earlier posts). The kit was very easy to fit. lietoswim, can't understand why bike shops won't fit these for you, but it was pretty easy to do yourself. I've found it great, only drawback is they are heavier than before, but not too hard to carry upstairs at my local station. The front wheel drive, Malumbu hasn't been an issue at all. Also plenty of range, have never got down below 3 levels out of 5 on the battery level indicator. But haven't cycled long distances with it, max 26 miles maybe.
  6. As a retired secondary teacher, the class teachers in year 7 used to do very well at Xmas and July, but the practice of giving teachers presents seemed to die out as kids moved up the school.
  7. Or try Buyacar. I used them a couple of years ago and was very impressed with the service.
  8. I would add the Alleyn's is intending in the long term to have potentially 100% bursaries available to anyone who needs them. Obviously that would cost a fortune and is a very long term aim Also, if you do get a 100% bursary then you would also have your uniform sports kit and lunches paid for. School trips would be funded by the school also.
  9. my three kids went to Alleyn's, two at 11+ and the third from reception onwards. They loved the school, did well, made lovely friends some of which they still see after uni. It is academic, but the atmosphere is relaxed and it isn't a hothouse.
  10. yes I remember the Spartan! Had something to eat before a parents' evening in 1972 - I was a teacher. Poached egg on toast etc.
  11. Caroline Pidgeon doesn't represent an area - she is elected by voters from all over London. By PR. There are also members elected by area - as you say, Southwark & Lambeth is one such. It's got a Labour member.
