help with parquet

Hey folks,

Long story short, I recently bought a house around here and it's gonna have to be renovated before I can set foot in it. I have already taken care of most of the contractors I'll need, it's just the flooring left.

Got any recommendations for people/companies that deal with oak parquet floors?

Do you want the real thing? Great if you do but just so you know, Amtico is indistinguishable, much more hard wearing and economical (though still admittedly pricey.) Lordship Lane Flooring do that and may also do "real" parquet. Alway had expert service from them.

Yes, I want the real thing. If it's gonna cost me, I might as well go for the real deal :D I wouldn't mind even buying from one company and letting another one do the installation. That's also an option.

Alrighty,

After long debates with the missus, we decided to go with a rustic parquet. Now, the question is, to anyone who has recently chosen a new one, do you like the rustic look? Discussed previously on this thread (i was the one who had had it done). It's a subject close to my heart! I spent an inordinate amount of time researching it!

Also kirstyL may be having her floor done fairly soon so may give you an updated recommendation on the fitter (or not as the case may be)..

ETA - just remember that the cost of fitting is just as expensive as the floor per meter..
