Surely it doesn't take the same person over 2 hrs. and 45 minutes to close the gates?

I suspect they work shifts in the Park (at least in the summer) and sometimes it seems to depend on who it is as to when the gates shut. Sometimes, they are bang on time and other times substantially later. In the summer, I cut through the park from the main gate to the farthest South Circular gate on the bike and occasionally wonder whether I might end up shut in. So I do always appreciate when they close the main 'in' gate before they start on their rounds to close the others. I can't wait for the lighter evenings - it's so much more pleasant cutting through the park than braving the South Circ.

I'm struggling to remember if I read something here a while back about the same workers closing the gates in multiple parks (Peckham Rye and Dulwich) which might explain some of the delays. 3 hours does seem like a long time although there may have been some emergency that we're not aware of that easily explains it.

    • I'm just about to adopt a new cat & they now have to be kept in at night. Technology really isn't my thing so is there anyone out there who would be happy to go through the instructions for a new cat flap with a timer & explain to me, in simple words, how it works? Maybe someone who already has one?
    • Wow, well served with local supermarkets then…  Agree with ATM.. good c position to been mugged or cloned card - prob why not been considered before. Wasn’t there one outside post office and still  is2where people were abit nervous of using? Hope I am wrong but won’t see me rushing to use it…sure lots of folk will benefit thou. Not a great fan or user of Iceland but when it closed years ago people complained..  Guess they only b look at bigger sites - can’t recall an express one but a pity to those who frequent the store. Strange that Tesco can use it as local but Iceland can’t - guess it is  power of large supermarkets. Personally would have  loved an Aldi or Lidl but  clearly site to small. Only grocery stores left to come are Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl…
