Hi,

My daughter is now 22 weeks and I've noticed that I'm loosing my hair rapidly around my temples. It's also coming out in clumps when I was or brush my hair. I've done a few internet searches and I know this is quite normal but it's still not making me feel any better. I'm still breastfeeding and wondering if it stops after you finish breastfeeding and also when does it grow back, if at all?! eek.

Hello

My hairdresser warned me about this - it is horrifying, isn't it?

What it really is, is that while you are pregnant, your hair falls out LESS than usual. (Normally you would always be growing new ones and shedding old ones). Then, after baby is born, your hair has to sort of catch up to regain its normal balance of hair in / hair out, and so all the hair that didn't fall out while you were pregnant, now suddenly starts falling out 4m after baby is born.

It's horrible but your hair does return to normal eventually.

I've got the halo too. Very attractive... I know it's rather depressing but it will grow back.

as a hairdresser i do see this allot and don't worry too much as you have read and been advised it is very common...

I know this isn't making you feel at ease with the situation but what i can suggest is that you perhaps buy your self some protein treatment.. i would heavily recommend REDKEN extreme range, try the shampoo, the anti snap spray and also the intense treatment that comes with it... it will make your a hair a little stronger and should lessen the amount of hair you are loosing as it will be stronger....

    • Well I don’t approve for a shop doing the same food to open so near - just wrong in my opinion. Why not go to the village, Peckham - foot fall would be great in Peckham and certainly more multi  cultural than ED. Village has money but doubt foot fall would be as good as ED.  At least they could have gone to the stretch leading up to Peckham Rye or why not bottom of Barry Road?? Or even North Cross Road I for one, on principal won’t be going in.

    • The street directory is on Ancestry and you'll need a subscription to access.  It's reasonably easy to navigate though you have to find the page you're looking for by a combination of trial and error/guesswork.  https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/61265/images/47056_263021009499_1592-00159?usePUB=true&_phsrc=Soz1793 There is though also a general search page for London directories where the street name can be entered in the keyword field and results will take you to the specific pages. https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/61265/
