Beautiful vintage Gazelle Dutch bike for sale

My beautiful Dutch bike Penelope needs a new home! Gazelle Speciale with 3 gears, bar brakes, pannier rack, integrated back wheel lock/pump and dynamo lights. The bike has always been kept in a shed, so in really good condition with barely any rust considering her age. Recently had a full service and new tyre fitted on back. The sit up and beg position is ideal for people with back problems, and even though it?s a fairly heavy bike, it?s a surprisingly smooth and easy ride. I rode this bike when I lived in Brighton and it dealt with the hills no problem.

Loads of lovely original features:

* Sturdy luggage carrier/pannier rack

* Full sized metal mudguards on both wheels

* Dynamo lights front/back - amazing back-up if you forget your lights!

* Useful sidestand and original bell

* Fully enclosed chain, no stains on clothes

* All-weather enclosed hub brakes

* Sprung seat

* Rear wheel lock

* Reliable sturmey-archer hub gears with tool-less adjustment

* Integrated pump

* Brooks leather handlebar grips

Frame size is about 57/58cm from top of seat tube to crank. I?m 5?11 and it fits me perfectly, but has also been ridden by my housemates who are 5?9 & 6?2 with no problems at all.

I?ve really loved riding this bike and am only selling due to moving away.

Looking for ?170 ono

    • There’s got to be something else happening in ED to stop this now very dull thread.
    • I think the East Dulwich one was one of the first ones after Brixton? It was very exciting when it first opened here, but yes they are all over the place now.
    • I see some possibly overloaded grandparents, with mobility issues, trying to help their overloaded daughter. They put some feelers out in anticipation of having to look after their grandson who, it seems, it extraordinarily smart and requires extra stimulation. A big ask all round. That they weren't yet aware of exact dates hardly warrants your complaints of time-wasting.
    • The shops selling gifts, interior stuff and clothes all sell different gifts, interiors stuff and clothes. They don't all have identical items, which would be ridiculous. It's a  completely different situation. The coffee shops and restaurants mostly also have different vibes, different food etc and cater to different tastes and pockets. The two empanada places have virtually identical displays of identical looking empanadas. I don't think anyone has suggested this move is "malicious" - that would make it even worse. Cheeky, yes, given the proximity to the first shop. I agree this is good advertising, though most people in ED probably don't look at the ED Forum (I stand to be corrected). Re the "organic grocer", if it's the one on the same side as Chango, yes their snacks are very tasty.  Unfortunately we were short changed there on several occasions when calling in late at night, and were once asked  a ridiculous price for a few items (with no price tickets on the snacks) so we don't go there any more. Hopefully these were all genuine mistakes, and hopefully things have improved since their refurb.
