Hearing my baby wail in pain from teething, whilst crying real tears and clutching his little fat cheeks was almost too much to bear. We dose him up on calprofen, to stop immflamation (also he gets a terrible fever when teething) and hope for the best. Poor, poor baby. I had my wisdom teeth extracted when I was 19 and that was dire; if it's as bad as that then no wonder the poor little bugger gives us hell!

Hi there, have you ever considered giving homeopathic remedies to your 6 month old for teething? they work brilliantly for pain relief and can even help the teeth come through quicker. I'm running a workshop at the beginning of June in east dulwich teaching mums how to use acute homeopathic remedies for things like teething, coughs, colds, ear infections etc...Babies are welcome but it is limited to 6 places and there are only 4 left. If you'd like more info please give me a call on 07588 820 409.

Best wishes

Cassie

thank you all-- i suppose i just wanted to make sure it was normal. for some reason, when i know why she's crying, its so much easier for me to comfort her.

Yes, i did wonder about an ear infection, but wouldn't the pain be more constant? She also, bizzarely, sleeps well at night which makes me think its not something like that.

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
