Right to Manage

Hi forum

I current live in one of four leasehold flats in a Victorian Conversion.

Since I moved there some 18 years ago, the Managing Agents have neglected the property badly, whilst continue to invoice large amounts of money for items that have not been done.

Right to Manage is an option at the moment which would get rid of the current agents and let us decide what needs doing to the property.

Can anyone suggest a good solicitor's firm who we can approach to get this process underway? Or can anyone recommend a reputable firm of Managing Agents we could appoint in due course?

Also, any experience of going down the RTM route, positive or negative, gratefully received.

Thanks

Gareth

    • You have to use the right extinguisher for the type of fire - water/foam not to be used for live electrical fires for example. A quick Google says powder extinguishers can be used on the most different types of fire. In a public/commercial setting fire extinguishers have to be serviced every year. Not sure the recommendation for residential ones, but when you buy extinguishers and fire blankets check if there's an expiry date.
    • Thanks, yes I need the y piece for the water to go to IN both washing machine AND the dishwasher but the y piece doesn’t fit on the B yellow pipe…  I’m not worried about the waste pipe for now, I’m just concerned about the supply to get water in to both appliances
    • Not sure about the word “input” - do you mean outflow / waste ? Red figure A looks like the sink overflow. If B is the washing machine outflow then that’s where you want your Y fitting. ( assuming all above conjecture is correct). I’d put a cap on that chrome threaded dead connection too. Don’t just rely on the valve. It all looks a bit of a mess TBH 🫣.
