I was in a similar position to you and tried to source cheaper buildings insurance quotes which are arranged by the Freeholder's Managing Agents. Unfortunately the Agents would not consider any cheaper quotes put forward by residents. Maybe it's worth checking this with your Freeholder before you put the time and effort into getting quotes.

I'm selling a flat in Forest Hill in a the moment. Needless to say that market seems quite stagnant, with 2 viewings in 10 weeks after a decent price reduction. Looking to see whether changing agents may springboard some activity. I've had valuations from Pedder, KFH, and Stanfords in Forest Hill. Any positives/negatives to any of theses agents? Or alternative recommendations? Thanks

Hi forum I current live in one of four leasehold flats in a Victorian Conversion. Since I moved there some 18 years ago, the Managing Agents have neglected the property badly, whilst continue to invoice large amounts of money for items that have not been done. Right to Manage is an option at the moment which would get rid of the current agents and let us decide what needs doing to the property. Can anyone suggest a good solicitor's firm who we can approach to get this process underway? Or can anyone recommend a reputable firm of Managing Agents we could appoint in due course? Also, any experience of going down the RTM route, positive or negative, gratefully received. Thanks Gareth

Hi Cab anyone suggest a good Managing Agents for our long term leasehold flat. For years we have been under the control of a very poor Agent employed by the Freeholder who have let the externals go to pot for 15 years to the extent where I am embarrassed to invite anyone round, and cannot instruct any work myself. I would like to exercise the Right to Manage and employ another agent- but don't want to have similar issues. Can anyone recommend a company? Thanks Gareth
