Our daughter goes to MG Greendale and from East Dulwich station cut through the Sainsbirys carpark and to the right of the cash machines there's a set of steps, go up these and follow them to the left and you'll come out in the middle of the estate. Turn left then right, past the pub and turn left, you're at the nursery. Takes about 10mins max from ED station xx

Or.....;-)

Go out of ED station.

Turn left into St Francis Road....all the way to the end and nip up (turning right) Abbotswood for about 20 metres.

At mini roundabout take left exit past playing fields (this is the start of the foot path).

Follow the path with playing fields on your right (about a 4 min walk).

When foot path comes to a t-junction, turn right onto Greendale (watch out for fast moving cyclists!!)

Go up hill - you really can't miss Mother Goose Greendale on your right - the noise will hit you before you see the brightly coloured equipment!

Oo will have to inform Mr KM1 - cheers m'dear x

Greendale is like being in the country really! It's one of the undiscovered but well known (to us who grew up there) pieces of London.

I remember running up and down the bumps and hills and around in the fields from the early 70's.

I can't not mention the Greendale Pub (which is now the Oribu spot or something) which me and my sisters and friends used to be part of.

My Dad played for the dart team and went on all the summer beanos. We children used to stand outside when they left on the coaches shouting "throw out your mouldees" (money).

We used to collect weeks worth of pocket money on one Sunday alone!

    • Wow, never had a disappointing meal there since they opened.. guess like every establishment, depends on the chef.. All for allowing an off day - good of you to post.. much better than chains - had awful service at Gail’s for eg..be it cake and tea or a meal.. They are so nice and accommodating..
    • "I tried Viet Flavour and was disappointed.  Their summer rolls especially were not at all good, stodgy and flavourless.  Pho-OK.  I'm hoping it will get better " Back in June I posted as above.  I am glad to report that either the first time I went the restaurant was having an off day, or they have upped their game.  I ordered the same things.  The summer roll was exactly as it should be, and had a lovely dipping sauce. The Pho was delicious.  My brother who was with me wanted to give it 10/10 but I always think you should leave room for improvement so gave it 9/10.  Staff were lovely.  I am so glad because I love Vietnamese food and now think I have a very good one just round the corner.
    • So do I, and I started it!!!  I have changed title.
    • Absolute crickets  starmer is pretty useless and clearly unpopular.  But it’s hard to quite fathom why when compared to his peers  should Farage get elected he will be even more useless, deeply unpleasant and wi destabilise the country in all manner of ways. But people will still give him a pass they won’t starmer    see also:  Trump vs Biden
