Wash the stained area first with white vinegar to ease out the stain . Then give the area a wash with gentle shampoo and then conditioner & then rinse with water well

Dry naturally.

Serve with a side salad and Jersey Royals .

Alan sat on the saddle soap once.

It's not been seen since.

Related query - I've got a lovely black leather handbag that's got a bit scuffed. It's still structurally sound (amazingly, as it's at least 4 years old and has been heavily used) and is very soft leather (almost as soft as glove leather). But it looks grey rather than black in places.

How can I restore the blackness, without using shoe polish as I'm worried that it'll end up on my clothes?

Cleaning leather : damp cloth then leather cream to buff. As for the handbag, you could try black spray paint if the areas are small, permanent marker... i only make these suggestions as you were thinking about using shoe polish but only avoided it through fear of it getting all over your clothes!

Spray point will likely crack with time. Have you asked about a professional restoration? Otherwise, what about using a leather conditioner on the handbag? The grayish appearance may be b/c the leather is dry. A leather conditioner would improve this.

To the OP, how did your chairs turn out? What method did you use?

Now, where on earth can one source enough urine from without putting in the hard yards yourself? ......Hang on a minute....

Go to local stables and use Horse Urine collected in a bucket.

    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.

    • Ugly...maybe..does it bother me..NO! I think its somehow reassuring to see theres still phoneboxes around. East Dulwich may well be getrified but there may well be some elderly people who don't have mobiles and kids who may have lost theirs adults ditto etc etc. I'd rather keep it than lose it...just because i don't use it does'nt mean its not needed.  there are many eyesores in the modern world not all of them as potentially useful.
    • I strongly recommend Balayage salon in Lordship lane as everytime I visit, they make me feel very spicial with thier profisionalism and care.   I have been going there for the last 10 years maybe more, and will never exchange them for any other. They are profisional, welcoming and they also always have an offer. I feel like a new woman every time. X
