New dad looking for cycling buddies

I'm a new dad to a 4 month old, so have not found much time for cycling in the past few months and I'm looking to get back into it. I'm not yet ready to jump back in with a club as I'm trying to get my fitness back, but keen to start up a social ride on a weekend morning with other newbie parents or keen cyclists.

Expect an average speed of 15mph, until we hit hills :-)

Is there any interest out there?

Southwark Cyclists do peaceful off streets rides of about 10 miles most Saturdays. Lewisham Cyclists go further and Lambeth Cyclists do intelligent rides about history and architecture which might not be right for someone seeking a break from life with a four-month-old. Dulwich Paragon also though I don't know much about them.

    • Who was Diana Rayworth, when 'resting from acting'. Her successful career was very sadly cut short following a devastating accident.
    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
