Am I the only one to find this section of the forum slightly depressing?

Recommended Posts

It is slow-moving and dull.

Anyone moving to the area, finding the forum and clicking on General ED Issues/Gossip will be sorely disappointed, surely.

There is more life in the Businesses and Trades section and even, heaven help us, in the Family Room.

I will wait stoically until this thread is moved to the About This Forum graveyard.

Admin - why not delete the thread rather than move it?

I don't find the Lounge section depressing.

I was referring to the general ED issues/gossip section (of which there appears to be none of any note) where I first posted.

Just delete the thread if it offends you so much.

Dorothy, I posted a response but Adminmeister removed it and I don't know why as it was not offensive in any way. Basically, it is my opinion that if we find this dull and boring then let's be pro-active and liven it up a bit with interesting, thought-provoking pieces....

It does not offend me. You were expecting it to be moved anyway "I will wait stoically until this thread is moved..." so with that foresight you should have made the title less ambiguous.

I would however request that you keep the ED Issues and Gossip section to discussions about ED issues and gossip.

    • Anyone upgraded their TV for Christmas?! I'm looking for a smallish Smart TV I can use with earbuds. Not more than 56cm high and  25cm deep. A 26" one used to fit.  Thanks!
    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
