????'s Mrs
Could anyone tell me if I need to pay tax for after school care? If I hired someone to work a few hours after school and some holiays does this count as a nanny? Sorry if it seems a silly question but if I can avoid having to sort tax out I would like to - as with a childminder they normally do this themelves. Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17156-advice-on-childcare-payments/ Share on other sites
denny
I think you probably are supposed to pay tax but discuss it with whoever you are interviewing they may be more than happy to take cash in hand I'm sure it isnt unusual especially if it is a second income Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17156-advice-on-childcare-payments/#findComment-434045 Share on other sites
bawdy-nan
yes you do unless they are self-employed (genuinely) working ad-hoc for example and for lots of dfferent clients.you are their emnployer so you'd deduct tax and ni and pay employer's ni on top. Its actually very straightforward and you can do it all online under some special shceme with hmrc.
