Recommendation: uPVC Windows and Doors with Don Valley

We are having all of our windows replaced and two new patio doors fitted by a Sheffield company called Don Valley Windows and are entirely delighted with the service we have received.

We had a lot of difficulty getting quotes in from companies operating in the area...and when we got the quotes in they were quite pricey and weren't able to fit in the job for many months. In desperation I spoke to my dad, a builder in Sheffield, who spoke to the company he uses up North. They had quotes back within a couple of days. The quote was markably cheaper than all others received. When we agreed the initial price, they came down and measured everything up. They are coming to fit them this weekend (only 3 weeks since they came to measure up!). Which means we can crack on with all other building work be back in our house by Christmas - hurrah!!

The guys at Don Valley would be prepared to do the odd job in London. So worth contacting if you are having difficulty getting quotes in from local places.

    • They’ve backed away from pretending they produce their own goods recently. That claim sat at the centre of the misdirection for years. They’ve now accepted they can’t sustain it, so they’re beginning to highlight the local independent bakeries whose products they actually sell. The business is essentially a courier model running on a slim margin.
    • Another sparrow hawk visor to our cherry tree at the weekend.  Our robin survived, but we may be a sparrow down.     any thoughts on bird feeders & bird baths with the current bird flu?  I try to wash out the bird bath most days when at home, but not on the 3 days in a row that I’m in the office & the bird feeders rather less regularly. Would it be better not to have at all (as my partner thinks)?
    • OOOPS. My daughter just had to pay a five pound fine. I hadn't put a stamp on it. I remember wondering whether to use a  first or second class stamp,  and clearly when I posted it I still hadn't decided (but sadly didn't notice). I feel really bad for suspecting a postie might have  opened it.  Sorry posties.
